"KNOCK KNOCK!"- My Korean Boss, Chapter 8

The posh wooden door slowly opened, and the flash of light flooded my vision.

"Hello?" I asked, blinded by the light.

"Hey... GIRLIE!" A familiar voice exclaimed.

"KAI?!" I yelped.

"Why hello! It's such a refreshing sight to see you again." Kai winked.

"Um..."

"Yep! Say hello to your new neighbor downstairs... KAI!!"

"So, you're the rascal you warned me about? You're a playboy?"

"Eh. First time I've admit that to someone. How did you like my warning?"

"That was NOT nice Kai. I was so scared."

As the bright light faded to a dull hue, I couldn't help but gawk at the sight.

Kai's fluffy hair was sticking to his forehead from all the sweat and the light from his apartment let his soft highlights appear. His hair was messily but cutely piled on top of his hair; his bangs were coated with his thick sweat but instead of making him look like a dirty man, he appeared as a hot beast.

Whatever Kai was doing... It wasn't helping my eyes. His shirt was tossed off and I could see his toned abs. They were also glistening from his sweat. But in the sunlight, I could see his stomach muscles tensing and relaxing from every breath he took.

However, to confirm that he wasn't the sexy beast, he wore loose grey sweatpants that prohibited me from seeing anymore. He also had a pair of clean, black Nike's that seemed to be a lot more professional and expensive than the ones I had seen in DSW at America.

Oh my god... What have I just walked in on?

"Whatcha looking at, girlie?" Kai chuckled.

"W-w-w-what?" I stuttered.

"What are you looking at?

"N-nothing. Just super surprised that you're the mysterious neighbor."

"You're surprised? I actually thought you knew. You're weird."

"Thanks. Put on some clothes... Will you? It's unattractive to see someone like you without clothes."

"Oh wow Cher. Way to hurt a man's pride. And I thought all of this hard work would pay off."

"Too bad. I'm not phased."

"Psh... Liar."

"Okay. Really, I came here to give you cake. Not to joke around with you in front of your house. This is not how I want to spend my day today."

"Geez, you should have said something before! Come in!"

I warily stepped into his apartment and I internally screamed.

His house was so... Modern. His small space was decorated with comfy round chairs and had shiny tables littered around the living room. His house was filled with reds and whites and almost looked like a restaurant. But it was a very cool type of restaurant. It still had the feeling of a house.

"Nice... House..." I remarked.

"Eh. My house decorating skills aren't that great." Kai shrugged the comment off.

"Wait. So you're telling me that you decorated this entire space by yourself?!"

"Yeah. What's the problem?"

"It's so good!" I swirled around and planned to compliment him.

As I turned around, I couldn't help but mischievously give a glance to the still-shirtless Kai.
