A Little Too Cheesy

Dinner was silent after our conversation about the second part of the date. In our silence, we finished in five minutes an Kai hurried me out before I could take an aesthetic photo.

"Hey! You idiot! I was going to take an aesthetic photo!" I whined as Kai dragged me along.

"You girls and your aesthetic photos. I've taken sooooo many selfies with my old baes. Don't even get me started." Kai groaned.

Shoot. I promised Miriam a selfie with my cute neighbor. Now... I can't do that. Kai hates selfies. Noted.

"Pshhh, I want to take a picture of Korea's beautiful places. Let me be a woman!!" I reasoned.

"Oh shut up." Kai glared playfully.

I turned my head against from his and he only chuckled, continuing to drag me along. After many arguments, we had finally arrived at our destination.

It was a fest!! A true fest where people could have some fun. I saw the colorful rides, the adorable decorations, and the countless faces of men and women.

"Kai, why didn't you tell me we were coming here?" I shrieked.

"Why? You hate this place? We can always go to a club and go crazy girlie~" Kai slurred back.

"No way!! I love this place so much! When did you find out about this?" I asked, mesmerized by the vibrant setting.

"Eh, I have some helpers around Korea." Kai shrugged his shoulders.

Kai stopped dragging me and instead, entwined his fingers into mine. He boldly took steps to the front of the line and gave a wink to the ticket man. He only nodded and Kai giddily dropped my hand and ran over to a booth.

"Okay girlie. I've been here so many times so I have to go run an errand. Do me a favor and go look around! It's a great place. I'll meet you by the food vendors, okay?" Kai kindly ordered me.

"Aw, it's no fun to be here by myself. You sure you can't follow with me?" I pouted.

"Nope. Have fun!!" Kai smiled.

In the next moment, I could only feel butterflies.

Kai snaked his arm around my waist and pulled me into his chest. He inched his face closer to mine and he smirked. Being too surprised, I could only feel my cheeks turning a bright red. I felt Kai's arm climb up to my back before stopping at the back of my neck. He drew me in closer but stopped right before our lips could touch. I felt the hot steam of Kai's breath and I couldn't help but to inhale the minty scent. Kai smirked once more before bringing his lips in even closer. But just when I closed my eyes, his lips landed on my cheek. I felt the linger of his lips until he broke away. He tousled my hair and ran off to do his "errand".

"The sick sick sick boy," I muttered underneath my breath.

I shook away the bliss and began to walk around, letting my eyes wander around the giant park. Rides were glowing with neon colors and children were running around, trying to go on a ride. I took a deep breath and I smelled the sweet funnel cakes, cotton candy, and many other sweet treats.

I strolled over to the rides and I could see my childhood running around, beckoning me to try them. I saw the carousal; the rusty old horses moving up and down even in their tired and old state. Little children were giggling from the joy. I saw a free-fall ride and I laughed at the faces of the teens; they were screaming with fear and joy, and the ride took in their laughter to continue the fright. All the other rides, however, soon disappeared in my sight when I saw my favorite.

The Ferris wheel.

There were no words to clearly describe the feeling. Joy? Passion? Love? Maybe every positive word combined together? The Ferris wheel was a magical world where nothing was bothering anyone. It was a time of tranquility and love. No child was screaming, no teen was puking, and no adults were fighting. It was a place where romance blossomed or bloomed even further. For those minutes, I took them for granted. I could forget about everything for 5 minutes and just take in the scenery and enjoy the quiet time with my loved one.
