It's the Start

Two days had passed since Kai's accident. With no food or water since the news from the doctor, I was dying on the inside and the outside. The doctor wasn't sure of what to make out of Kai's situation and judging from his constant strange behavior, Kai could have a more deadly disease.

I sighed, thinking of my poor angel trying to survive this ugly disease destroying his whole body. Everyone stopped contacting me. They knew after the first day that I wouldn't say anything and they just gave up, respecting my space and silence. I refused to go to work, refused to eat, refused to do anything but wait outside Kai's house.

A nurse walked up to me and whispered, "Hey Sweetie. Today's the third day. I think you need to go home, have some food, and come back after you've rested. Okay?"

I looked up at the nurse and more tears for the day were welling up, threatening to fall down and break down in front of the kind nurse. I croaked out, "I'm okay, thank you for concerning me."

The nurse gave me a look of sympathy but she walked away, shaking her head as she paced herself towards another patient. Honestly, I needed someone to keep me alive. I was left alone for three days with no comfort from my friends or family whatsoever. My only "family" was currently dying in the hospital.

I closed my eyes and let myself float into my dreams. I knew that I would wake up with nightmares following me everywhere, but the nurse was right, I needed some rest before I could see Kai. I didn't want to worry him when I could see him again. Floating off, I felt the tears gently drip down my cheeks.

5 Minutes Later....

I awoke from my restless sleep when a cold hand fondled my cheek. Letting my eyes open to the blaring lights, I blinked. I saw a shadowy figure look at me and I let out a cry of fear.

"Shhhh, I got you, Cher. Everything is going to be okay. I got you. Lean on me." A husky voice reassured me.

"Kyung Soo?" I croaked out.

"Yeah. I got you."

Kyung Soo was carrying me bridal style, carrying me to the exit of the hospital. Too tired to even think, I gave into his firm chest and snuggle further, closing my eyes and praying for some calm dreams. Once again, I floated from the world and drifted to the dream world.

3 Hours Later...

I felt  Kai's pale hands clasp my wrist, pulling me towards his sickly figure.

"Kai? Are you okay? Do you need anything?" I asked, trying to keep the smile on my face.

"Why did you have to go to your boss?" Kai weakly asked.

"Wha-?"

"Was I not enough for you, Princess?"

Kai coughed and blood spilled down his chin, staining his hospital bed. His face was slowly peeling, revealing all the tissue and muscle under his skin.

"Help me, Cher! Help me!!!"

"I'm sorry Kai!" I shrieked.

My eyes shot open and I froze, scarred from the nightmares plaguing my mind. The unfamiliar setting made me want to throw up and I attempted to get off the bed. My futile attempts were hopeless and the blankets also got tangled and I tumbled off of the high bed.
