Holly was running now, and she could see the girl. But apparently the girl could also see them. She kept running on the water, but even weirder, she was creating giant waves behind her, making it impossible to get too close.
But Holly didn't stop. She couldn't. This girl was their only chance, and they where way to far to turn back. Her legs were aching, but she pressed forward.
She occasionally turned her head to see how the others where doing. Jennifire was just sitting on a cloud and floating along right behind her. Jesse was a little behind Jennifire and running, but Holly could tell that if both girls were out of the way and there was a long patch of ice ahead of them, Jesse would've bolted ahead easily.
She laughed a little at each time she turned. She never would've thought that she would be in this position. Ever. But here she was, chasing a girl across an ocean and using her powers again.

Jesse hated this. They had been running for who knows how long, and they still haven't caught this girl. But she had had enough. She was exhausted and angry and... No. She thought. I already got angry, and I don't want it to happen again. She remembered what her grandparents told her about her dad. She remembered how she never wanted that to happen to her. So she always tried to stay calm and positive. And although it didn't always work, at least she never got really angry.
But she was angry yesterday, and she was angry now. But she took a few deep breaths and called for Holly to stop.
"What's wrong?" Holly asked once she stopped.
"I... uh..." Jesse didn't really know how to explain. She felt herself calming down, which wasn't what she wanted. So she reached up and slapped Jennifire. "Ohmygosh! I'm so sorry I-" Jesse said, realizing how stupid she was. But she couldn't even finish before Jennifire kicked her shoulder and sent her sprawling back into the water.
She emerged from the water soaking wet and super mad.
"Freeze everything," she ordered Holly, glaring at the girl who had stopped to catch her breath.
"What?" Holly asked, very confused.
"I said, freeze everything. The whole ocean. Now." Jesse ordered again, glaring at Holly. She really didn't want to be doing this, but she needed to.
Holly obeyed, freezing everything she could see. Jesse heard Jennifire giggle a little when the girl slid around, then fell on her face. She would've laughed too, but she was to busy changing.
She felt herself grow stronger. She looked down at her hands and body, which looked normal except for the glowing purple aura surrounding her. And when she looked at her braided hair, she saw it had deep green strips of purple in it. But then everything was green. She heard angry laughter in her mind.
I thought I was going to control it this time! Jesse though. And I'm going to!
Nah. Another voice answered. I like being in control.

Jennifire was once again confused with what was going on. Jesse changed again, but she didn't beat them up like she expected. Jesse started running toward the girl, who apparently knew how to run on ice.
"Oh my gosh." Holly whispered. "Today we are just full of surprises. Come on," she grabbed Jennifires hand and started running, which caused her to fall off her cloud. But since she was just sliding on the ice, Holly didn't stop.
"Why are we chasing after them?" Jennifire asked.
"Would you rather just sit and watch them disappear?" Holly called over her shoulder. Jennifire actually would prefer that over being dragged across ice, but she didn't say that.

As fast as Holly was running, which was pretty fast, she couldn't catch up to Jesse. And Jennifire didn't like being dragged along the ice, either. So she pulled Holly down, and stood up. Bad idea.
Jennifire was sliding around on the ice screaming for Holly to help. Both Jennifire and Holly didn't know how she started sliding around, but she was. And Holly couldn't grab Jennifire before she slid away.
"Why does my ice have to be slippery?" Holly complained while lunging at her sister. She expecting Jennifire to just slide away again and to just fall on ice, but she actually landed on Jennifire ad she started sliding toward Jesse.
"Ow! Get off of me," Jennifire shrieked, pushing Holly. Holly did get off of her sister, but she kept sitting and sliding.
"We'll just slide from here," Holly said, grabbing Jennifires hand. Jennifire sighed angrily abut stayed sitting. Holly could tell Jennifire felt very awkward because she stayed very quiet and didn't move much, which only happened in awkward situations. But they didn't have to stay like that for much longer.
Holly could see land, just a tiny little island with a giant cliff a few feet in from the beach. The girl ran into the island and up against the cliff, and Jesse was approaching her. Holly jumped up an started to run toward them, pulling Jennifire along with her. When they arrived at the island, Jesse turned to her and... smiled? Then she collapsed in the sand and woke a moment later as normal Jesse. Holly wanted to know if her friend was OK, but she turned to the girl first.
"Who are you?" Holly realised that all four girls had said that simultaneously. But Holly tried to make it clear that she wanted her answer first, without saying so. After a moment the girl sighed and looked down.
"My name is Alyssa."

Alyssa looked back up at the girls. The first girl was tall, with wavy brown hair and bright green eyes. Her skin was like snow, and she wore a dark blue T-shirt, a white skirt, and dark blue tennis shoes. She was standing next to a girl who was slightly shorter. She had blonde hair pulled up into a very very messy bun with flowers around it, and bright blue eyes. Her skin was darker by the first girls, but not by much. And she was wearing a very bright yellow long sleeved shirt with a bright pink tutu, and orange tennis shoes that were very muddy.
Alyssa then turned to the third girl. The monster girl. She looked like a... a human. She looked about the same height as Alyssa. She had two long braids in her hair and chocolate brown eyes. She wore a plaid green shirt, purple skinny jeans, and cowgirl boots. But Alyssa didnt really care about that much. When she looked at that girl, other than her eye color and how she wore her hair, it was like Alyssa was looking into a mirror.
