'It's okay babe,' Zayn comforted me as we got ready to walk into the principal's office.
'I hope,' I replied.
'Morning children,' he said as he looked at a file on his table.
'Good morning sir.'
'You're right kids. It will be a good morning for me. And a bad one for you. Let's start with the girls,' he said smiling.
Great.
'According to the system, the three of you were in school. But when I went to your class Perrie, to talk wish you luck for your Regionals, you weren't there. As the same for Chelsea and Bethany. Anything to say?' he asked, raising his right eyebrow.
What do I say? What do I say?!
'You can take your time to think. How about the guys. Harry?' he asked.
Harry didn't even take a second to think.
'You see Mr Dallas... Perrie's grandmother died. So she had to go back to the UK. Chelsea and Beth went for support because Perrie was heartbroken. Her grandmother was very dear to her. Perrie's parents had to be overseas on business issues. So knowing that we were very close, her father sent the 5 of us to go with her for protection. He's a very protective father Sir,' he said.
I quickly poked my eye to fake a tear. I lifted my head up and looked into Mr. Dallas's eyes pitifully. For a moment, a pang of guilt flashed through them.
'Well, it was an emergency. But for not informing the school, all of you get 2 weeks detention. Starting today. Go back to class! All of you!' he shooed us out.
We walked out, relieved that we pulled it off without getting suspended.
'Harry beautiful liar aren't you. You did it with so much emotion and feelings,' I said.
'Born with it...' Harry said proudly.
But then a thought hit me. 2 weeks of suspension equaled to...
2 weeks of no Cheer practice!
I had to go! I had already missed a whole week. They would kick me, Chelsea and Beth off the squad if we didn't go again. Looks like I've got to bend the rules. Again.
I waited and waited and waited for the lunch bell to ring. And finally, it did.
'Perrie, Chelsea! if we have 2 weeks detention then we can't go for Cheer practice!' Beth exclaimed.
'I know... We have to go no matter what. Don't worry, I'll figure out a plan,' I said.
'Better be quick. Because here come the girls,' Chelsea added.
'Chelsea wherever have you been? You haven't been to practice in forever. Regionals are in 2 weeks. You have to come today! We need to complete the routine,' Chloe, the stand in captain when I was gone, said to me.
'Yeah I'll be there Chloe,' I said with a smile.
I got my food and sat at the guys' table, Chelsea and Beth behind me.
'Zayn... I have a problem...'I said.
'What's up babe?' he asked.
'I have cheer practice later. And I have to... Skip detention?' I said biting my lips.
'And you need us to help you?' He said, practically reading my mind.
'Yeah kind of...'
'Definitely babe, just make sure your there for the first and last 10 minutes' he said.
I gave him a kiss on his cheek and started eating. Lunch was always disgusting. And short. Lunch was a simple 30 minute period which kinda sucked because you couldn't do much really.
After the day, which was another 3 house of studying, Chelsea, Beth and I went to the detention room, which was the same as any other classroom but had the word 'DETENTION' stuck almost everywhere. Zayn and the guys were already there and they were seated on the tables and chairs.
'Hey baby,' he said as I sat on his lap and gave him a kiss on his cheek. At that same moment the detention teacher came to the door.
'Y'all better stay here I have things to do and I'll be back at the end,' he said. The minute he left Beth, Chelsea and I got our stuff and left the room. 'Call me if anything!' I shouted to Zayn as we left.
