The baby on Kyla's lap gurgled slightly, and for once, Brendon was actually able to sit in the same room as it. He still didn't like looking at it though, especially since it was seemingly grabbing for him.

That didn't stop the baby though.

Kyla did a good job of restraining it though, and Brendon just played with the bandages on his hands. Mason had to go to work today and Carole had to go out, so they'd dropped him at Kyla's house for 'babysitting'.

Kyla was just happy to be able to spend more time with Brendon.

"Do you want something to eat? Some water perhaps?" She offered. "I can make you a sandwich or we could go out if you wanted."

"You choose?"

"It's your choice, Bren." She smiled, fixing up Jaisun's hair.

"I don't know..."

Jaisun giggled and reached for Brendon yet again.

Brendon just looked away.

Kyla pulled him back. "So... do you wanna go out?"

"Not really?"

"That's okay. Do you want a drink?"

"Sure?"

Kyla nodded and went to the kitchen, returning with a glass of apple juice. "This used to be your favorite when you were little."

"Oh, okay. I haven't had it in awhile."

"Well, here you go."

"Thanks."

Kyla put Jaisun in his little playpen and sat down next to Brendon. "What do you want to do?"

"I don't know."

"What do you normally do at Mason's?"

"Not much."

"Well, what do you wish you could do at Mason's?"

"Something interesting."

"What's something interesting?"

"I don't know Kyla."

"Why don't we...." She thought about it. "Do you wanna play some video games?"

"Uh...sure?"

Kyla set up a console and handed Brendon a remote, before slotting a car racing game into the disk drive.

Kyla obviously played this a lot.

Brendon was still figuring out the controls.

"I don't think I'm doing this right Ky..."

"Push that button there to go forward, Bren."

"Okay..."

She smiled encouragingly. "That's it!"

"Right..."

Once he got the hang of it, Brendon was still way behind, but he started to enjoy himself.

"This is fun." He smiled.

Kyla giggled "I'm glad."

They played heaps of games, and Brendon was getting pretty good.

He didn't want to leave when it was time for physiotherapy.

"Come on, it won't be long."

"Awww!"

"It'll be here when you come back."

Brendon begrudgingly nodded and tried to push the wheels of his chair forward.
