<Continued from last chapter>
John's POV
She just read my mind.....
Rachel's POV
Yeah, I'm not one for coffee. It's very sugary and I honestly don't want to be broken out in zits and blemishes. I know it's going to get worse as I get older. The slightest piece of candy might put my face into freak mode.
We order separately and the boys take turns pointing out stuff around town. They've gotten off track into memory lane.
"Remember the time when we went into the library and started belting out the lyrics to "Alright" by Kendrick Lamar?" John asks.
"Yeah, I do. Dude, That was literally three weeks ago." I say in mock annoyance.
"Haha, I know." The caveman laughs
"The music video came out on June 30th." I say. "Did'ja see it?"
"No."
Dear boys,
Hey, it's Rachel. Right behind you. I'm still here. Signed but never delivered, Rachel.
I sip on my starbucks. I've been kind of slow on drinking it. It's so good, I want to savor it. Oh, screw it....
"Rachel, what music do you listen to?" Matthew asks.
Ugh, I love and hate this question with a fervent passion.
"I listen to it all." I respond. My usual response to a typical question like this.
"You mean all Pop?" He smirks. I think I'm going to learn to hate that smirk.
I smile.
"Nah, anything really. Rock, mellow, soft, vinyl, heavy metal, dysfunctional, electronic, rap... you name it."
I'm smiling inside. That'll show 'em.
John's POV
She listens to it all.
Most girls go for love songs or whatever pop song that is catchy. Guys are usually the ones all about hip hop and rap like Kendrick Lamar, Fetty Wap, Kodak Black, Lil' Wayne, Tupac, Eminem, and maybe A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie. I've never really met a girl who liked anything like us guys do.
Matthew's POV
This girl was raised by someone who obviously had quite the taste for music. She's definitely much different from any other girl I've met. I know girls that swoon over "Love me like you do" and say that they forever will. They say it's "literally goals".
"Most guys these days listen to rap and hip hop." John states.
"Yeah, but I know a some guys at the other middle school who listen to rock and dysfunctional." I say.
"I should meet them." Rachel flashes her pretty smile.
"Are you doing any sports in the fall?" John asks.
"Cross Country." Rachel responds.
"Oh, so you're a runner, ay?" I question with a smirk.
"Not entirely yet, but I will be."
There she goes, that sexy smile again. Oh...and those curves? So freakin' hot. Ugh, and her.....
John's POV
I've never met a girl like her. She's different. I know she's being herself because I can see the happiness in her eyes when we talk. I hope I made her summer. I'm definitely her first friend, that's for sure. I bet she's going to get along well with everyone in school.
But for right now, Matthew won't stop making goo-goo eyes at Rachel's butt and breasts.
I knew this would start to happen.
