Rachel's POV
I hung up on Matthew and John because more of my family members began to arrive.
"So, is he your boyfriend or not?" My cousin, Matthew, asks.
"No, we met a little over a month ago. He's my friend."
"Awh, I ship it." My cousin, Amanda, gushes.
I sigh. Dad walks in.
"What's this talk about you having a boyfriend?" He raises an eyebrow in sarcasm.
"OOOOOOOOO....." All my cousins go wild.
"Rachel's in LOOOOOVVVVVEEEE....." Vanessa teases.
"Awhhh..." JT cooes.
Oi.
John's POV
Matthew and I decided to meet up with Colin and Luke at the skate park. We were on the ramps when Matthew scrolling through some models instagram. He opened a picture of her in a one piece bathing suit, glaring at it as if he was taking it all in. He likes it.
I sigh, shake my head, and position myself to go down the ramp.
As I ride down, Rachel enters my mind. For the split three seconds it took for me to make it to the other end of the halfpipe, I think of what Matthew had said. About Rachel being his. The word his is a sour word in my mouth.
I made to the other end of the halfpipe. Only I was distracted. I made it there faster than I could react and get ready to make on the platform. The wheels get stuck for a split second on the edge of the platform, which wakes me up from my trance. Too late. I fall down and land on the small of my back with a thud, my skate board only a second after. I may of had my helmet on, but I blacked out for a good three seconds, images of flashing through my mind.
His.
A sour word in my mouth.
