If it weren't for the bright sun shining through the blinds, Kihyun wouldn't have woken up in time to meet up with Hyunwoo. His eyes strained to adjust to the morning light. There was a soft snoring beside him, causing his eyes to dart to the small form next to him that hugged his arm as if it was a stuffed animal. He found himself subsequently smiling at the sight of sleeping Hwan, stroking the soft curls of his hair in an attempt to wake up fully.
He checked the time on the clock against the wall, eyes widening when he realized what time it was. "Fuck...I'm gonna be late." he muttered to himself as he tried to free his arm from the clutches of the small child. Kihyun wasn't intending on being late with Hyunwoo, but he didnt want to leave Hwan with a man called "Jooheon" despite Hyunwoos assurance that it'll be okay.
There was soft whines and grumbled coming from Hwan the moment Kihyun freed his arm. In a moment of panic, he replaced his arm with a large stuffed bear, seeing him calmed almost immediately. Letting out a sigh of relief, Kihyun quietly slid out of the bed and began freshening himself up the best he could quietly.
As he undressed to shower, he stared at his figure in the mirror, pouting at how pudgy he looked. Maybe a year or 2 of no gym and living off top ramen for a while takes a toll in your body. Better start taking care of myself too, the single father thought as he got into the shower and began freshening up.
The bathroom was foggy and humid when Kihyun got out, a trail of steam following him into the room as he did. He went over to the closet, glancing over at Hwan every so often. The child was still asleep with his chubby arms wrapped around the teddy bear. He smiled to himself again, beginning to dress nicely before he receives a text from Hyunwoo.
[TeddyBear]
Dress comfortably. Like sweatpants and a t-shirt preferably. No dress shoes or button up please. You'll regret it.
The text left Kihyun slightly confused, but he didnt question it. Wherever the "date" was, it clearly wasn't fancy, much to his dismay. He of course wasn't expecting hi neighbor to take him to a 5 star restaurant, but he at least wanted a nice restuarant. He wasn't complaining however, as he'd much rather be in sweats than in khakis.
As he pulled on a large pair of grey sweats and a shirt, he heard the doorbell ring. Hwan began to stir in his sleep, soft whines becoming apparent again. Kihyun hushed him softly, seeing his large eyes flutter open. He was much less scared after seeing Kihyun's face, but he was upset that his sleep was disturbed. "Ki..." He whined in a high, sleepy voice.
"Mommy will get the door, stay here okay?" Kihyun assured, rushing out of the room and fixing his hair. Hyunwoo's early, he thought as he struggled to unlock the door. Once it did open, he was face to face with a man that wasn't Hyunwoo. Instead it was a white haired male with narrow eyes curved into a smile. He looked all too comfortable in the baggy hoodie and sweatpants and his dimples were deeper than some relationships he's been in.
Kihyun was about to slam the door in the man's face, but then he remembered the man Hyunwoo was talking about before. "You're Jooheon right? You're Hyunwoos replacement basically?" Kihyun questioned.
"Yeah?" The man tilted his head a bit. "I came to babysit a baby named Hwan while you're out with the giant teddybear". Kihyun sighed in relief, glad the baby sitter had come at the right time. He was just about to leave aswell, considering if he took any longer he'd be late in meeting Hyunwoo, despite them being literally adjacent to eachother.
Kihyun quickly went over the scheduale of Hwan's day, pointing out every activity to the last detail. Hwan poked his head from the bedroom door in confusion, letting out a soft exaggerated "Kiiiiiiiiiiii....", yawning after. Jooheon tilted his head the other way, seeing the small child and gasping. Kihyun was pushed out of the way by the white haired man as he made his way and lifted Hwan off is feet.
