Nadirah and Leonardo were sitting in the hospital waiting for news on Antonio.

"Family of Antonio King" the doctor said as Nadirah and LA stood up

"Yes that's us" she said

"Hello I'm Dr. West and the good news is we were able to remove the bullet out of his arm" said Dr. West

"That'll be fine" LA said "his parents should be here any minute now"

"I'm going to call a cab so you can get home and get some rest I can tell you're tired" LA said to Nadirah

When the cab pulled up, she contemplated on whether she should leave LA there by himself.

"Be safe" Nadirsh said after giving him a hug

Within 15 minutes, Nadirah walked into the house and saw her mother in the dining room with a glass of water pacing

"Where the hell have you been me and your father have been worried sick about you" she said acting like she cared

"It's not like you care anyway" Nadirah said walking up the stairs

"You don't want to go there with me tonight cause I'll give it to your ass" she said going on a rant

When Nadirah got upstairs, she looked under her bed to see how much more money she needed to get herself a phone. Her parents said they didn't want her having one because of social media, but she was going to get one regardless of what they said.

A week later, Leonardo had a surprise for Nadirah that he knew would uplift her from her sadness.

"Hey best friend" he screamed down the hallway

"What's poppin" she said giving him a hug

"Nothing much just pimpin" he replied goofily

"Yeah ight" she said closing her locker walking to her class

At lunch, Nadirah sat with her back facing the entrance, but she kept hearing people saying welcome back and when she turned around, she seen it was Antonio. She walked over to him really fast.

"Welcome back" she said with a smile

"It feels good to be back but I've been meaning to talk to you" he said seriously

"About what" she asked curiously

"I know we just met about a week ago but I really like you and --" Nadirah cut him off

"I really like you too"

"Let me finish" he said "I know you don't want a relationship with me right now but I just want to vibe you know"

"I'm cool with that" she said with a smile nodding her head

After their conversation, Antonio seen LA walking over to the table with Keisha trailing behind him.

"Oh forreal this how you feeling smiling in this bitch face in front of me wow I see how it is remember that when u want some head tell that bitch to do it" she said then walked away before he could say anything

"Why she always starting something" Nadirah asked "I don't like drama but I'm not gon be too many bitches no more"

"Imma handle that but you tried out for anything yet" he said

"No but I've been thinking about cheering" Nadirah said dipping her fries into the ketchup

"Yes best friend" said LA "you know me and him playing basketball this season right you should cheer"

"I will just for y'all but I'm boutta head to my next class see y'all later" Nadirah said throwing away her stuff and walking to her locker just for it to be shut.

"Stay away from my man or else" said Keisha

"Your man" she asked laughing "that's funny but you got that one sis"

When Nadirah started walking out the building at the end of the day, she seen her dad's all red Range Rover larked outside.

"What are you doing here" she asked getting in the car

"Since you don't know how to come home I'll be picking you up from now on" he said

"You and mom are blowing mine" sbe said rolling her eyes putting the seatbelt on

"Now why were you home at almost 5:30 last week ?"

"I went to the park with my friends" she said truthfully

"There's only one park around here and I heard there was a shooting there that same day care to explain" he said

"I was late because we had to take the long way around because of the shooting" she said lying because if he found out it was one of her friends he'd definitely put a leash on her

"Alright explain this to your mother when you get home cause you fucking up my schedule"

Everything with him was always about work and she was tired of coming second to everything in her parents' lives.
