Ashley and I argued all night, and I couldn't sleep at all. Andy slept on the couch and Ashley slept in my bed. It was around 2•00 am when I decided to get up and have a smoke, I lifted Ashley's arm off of my and crept out of the room.

I dragged my feet behind me as I slid into the living room, the smell of tobacco lingered in the air and Andy's tall figure was surrounded by blue-grey smoke. I sighed and picked up the cigarette packet from the side-table, it was empty.

"Do you think the corner shop is open?" I whispered, putting on Andy's coat. He shrugged and breathed the smoke out the window. I rolled my eyes and took the keys off the hook.
"There's a pack of Camels in the kitchen drawer..." his deep chainsaw voice called out.
"Thanks," I laughed, taking his coat off and hanging it back up, suddenly the smell of his strong cologne was gone and back on the hook.

His smell is always comforting.

I walked over to him and leant on his side, resting my hand delicately on his shoulders. I sighed, looking out the window with him. As I looked up at him I noticed he was looking down at me, towering over me.
Andy didn't scare me, he never has, I always feel safe around him. He's like the brother I never had and I love him with all my heart.
"I'm so happy you exist" I grinned up at him as he smiled brightly back down at me and snaked his tattooed arms around my small figure. He squeezed me close, tightened his grip and closed his eyes. Of course, I hugged back, I had no choice but to. Andy was the best hugger there is.
"I love you so much Sky, don't ever leave me," I could hear the heartbreaking sound his voice cracking before he cried.

"I promise I won't Andy, don't ever think I would," I looked up at him as a silent tear rolled down his cheek, I wiped it away with my fingertip.

His face edged closer to mine and our lips locked, wait, were we... kissing??? I closed my eyes and embraced his head in my hands and intertwined his raven black hair between my fingers. I couldn't move away or pull back, I was hypnotised by this kiss we shared by the window. He lifted my legs up and wrapped them around his waist as he leant me against the ledge. I ran my hands down his head and to his neck, from there to his chest. I pulled back, wide-eyed and out of breath.

"We shouldn't have done that..." I shook my head, admiring the mischievous glint in Andy's eyes. A smirk grew on his face.

"But we did!" He laughed, his chainsaw voice enticing me to do it again.

I woke up back in my bed, wearing Ashley's t-shirt. He was gone, probably to work in the studio but I heard Andy in the kitchen. I got out of bed, made coffee and sat on the couch. Andy was smoking and sitting on the kitchen side, I took a cigarette from the coffee table, I assumed Andy got some this morning. I lit the fag and smoked it as I watched the morning news.
Nothing new: a few protests, another fight outside of town and another man arrested for no relevant reason. Andy came and sat next to me.

"Since when did we smoke in the apartment?" He laughed, pulling the cigarette from my mouth and taking a hit for himself. I stared at Andy.

"Since it was too cold outside, but seeing as there's a fag thief I'll manoeuvre my shit outside" I snatched the cigarette out of his mouth and stormed out of the apartment.

Of course it was still cold and of course, I didn't stop to grab a jacket or a jumper but didn't care. I finished the fag but I didn't move, I just stood outside, enduring the biting cold air and wind. Today was my anniversary with Ashley, but I felt guilty, what I did last night was wrong.

Ashley got back from work and knocked on the door in a suit and tie, complete with a bunch of red roses. I gasped and took the flowers from his hand and set them on the side, took his hand and left the apartment.

My feet were killing me from the heels and my dress was too tight but I didn't care, I was happy with Ashley. Ashley was taking me to the fanciest restaurant that was just outside of town, it was French and served almost everything posh like lobster, caviar and those little cubes of cake and the overpriced decorations. The whole time Ashley was just staring into my eyes with a smile I had never seen before, this had to be love.  We played footsies under the table and kicked each other whilst the neighbourhood snobs stared in disgust. Ashley and I didn't care, instead, we laughed at their politeness and their etiquette.

We had finished our meal that was way too expensive and took a walk on the beach, holding each other's hand and shoes. We stopped to stare at the moon and the stars, and they gazed back.

Ashley slid his hand into his pocket and got down on one knee;

"Skyler Kristine Davenport, will you marry me?"
