Runaway (Jackie's Story)

Chapter 2

After Elaine and I had finished our run we went inside. I sat on the counter and tossed her an apple, as I got one for myself. She looked at me, "Sooooo who do you like?" My eyes widened, "What?!" She laughed, "You heard me!" I growled at her, "I am so not answering that!!" She pointed a finger at me, "That's how you know you like someone!!" I snapped at her finger, "Uhh no." She yelped and laughed. I heard someone snort and I turned.

Quil was standing in the doorway smirking. I rolled my eyes, "What do you want?" He looked me over as his eyes clouded with lust, "You." I threw my apple at his head, "I don't want you Quil. We tried dating remember that! You promised me forever, but what you actually gave me were lies! Lies that I was stupid enough to believe! Now leave." I turned trying not to cry. I heard Quil whimper and get closer, but Elaine gave him a warning growl, "Don't Quil. You've caused enough damage." I heard him sigh and shuffle away as my tears began to overflow and I remembered when he had promised me forever.

*flash back*

I was sitting on the roof watching the sun go down and the darkness take over. "Beautiful sunset," a voice said from behind me. I turned quickly, my fist ready to connect with skin, but was stopped by Quil's hand. He smiled, "Great way to welcome your boyfriend." I smiled, "I'm sorry Love." He nuzzled my neck, "S'alright." We sat together in silence when he pulled out a black velvet box. I looked at him, my dark blue eyes widening, "Are you serious?.." He smiled, "Iloveyou and I promise I will love you forever and always. Will you be my promised one?" I looked up at the full moon and smiled, "Do you promise forever and always?" He pulled at my hand and looked me in the eyes, "I promise." He knew how much promises meant to me, because I had lost so many close friends due to broken promises. I grinned, "Yes. I'll be your promised one Quilian Eli Donahue." He slid the Tangled ring from the Disney princess collection and put it on my ring finger. I blushed at how right it felt. He lifted my chin, ran a finger across my lips and kissed me till the wolves started howling. Then we went and joined them.

*end of flashback*

The tears leaked out of my eyes as my wolf whimpered. 'We need him..' My wolf Crimson whispered into my mind. 'I know..but we can't..' I whispered back. 'I know..." Crimson whined and didn't talk the whole night. Elaine wiped my tears away, "Not here you don't." She grabbed my arm and pulled me upstairs into my room. She closed the door and held me as I cried and loudly sobbed my heart out. I heard a frustrated snarl, a door banging closed, a yell, a fist hitting the wall, then cussing. Elaine stroked my hair and whispered sweet nothings to me until I fell sleep and just before I heard his voice say, "I'm sorry Princess. Iloveyou. Sweet dreams."
