Runaway (Jackie's Story)

Chapter 12

I looked at all of my packmates grinning faces and I jumped onto a nearby boulder, "HEY! WHO WANTS TO RUN?!" I got everyone's attention as I was answered by people shifting, and howling in joy. I shifted into my own wolf and answered their call. I spotted Dalia a honey brown wolf. I smirked and leaped down. I trotted up to her and nuzzled her. She yipped and nipped my ear. I growled playfully at her. Out of the corner of my eye I saw Lariat, Antonio, Dani and Vince in a corner huddled together.

I trotted up to Elaine, [Hey. You see the pile of wolves over there? They're old friends of mine and Dalia.] Elaine nodded her head, [Stay beside me.] I growled my response. She began to walk towards them. They immediately shook their fur out and tried to look presentable. I stifled a laugh. Elaine circled them twice before she sat on her haunches watching them. Her blue eyes holding authority over them. Antonio, Dani, and Vince immediately dropped their eyes or looked away. Lariat was the one who had difficulty, because his wolf was dominant, but not as dominant as Elaine. Elaine saw this and bared her fangs, then Lariat's wolf showed submission. Elaine nodded, [You will be part of my pack. We will line up and we will see where you belong.] The boys nodded. Elaine opened up her mind link, [Line up and hustle!!] The pack immediately got into a line. It went Elaine, Myself, Quil, Marco, Izzy, CJ, Dalia, Melvin, Damien, Saphira, Chalice, and Avonela. The high ranking cubs. Then the rest of the pack. Omegas last.

Dani went first. He just glared for the first 100 people, then came the growls. When he got to Damien he had to get in his face and snarl, but Damien didn't back down. Dani sighed, [I choose to stay below Damien, but above the high ranking cubs.] Elaine nodded, [Is that your final decision?] Dani nodded, [He has alpha blood. I can't compare.] Pride swelled in my chest and I trotted up to Damien and nuzzled him, [Thats my boy.] I cooed. Damien nuzzled me back and smirked at Dani. [He's your son?!] I flicked my tail, [Yeap. My first born.] Dani stared in awe.

Next up was Vince. Like Dani he glared at the first 100 people, when he got to the cubs he started growling. He breezed over Melvin, and Damien then he got to Dalia. Vince growled at her, and she growled right back. He got into her face and snarled, but she bared her fangs and stood to her full wolf height where she towered over him. Her hazel eyes staring him down. He looked at Elaine, [I wish to stay below Dalia, but above the Guardians.] Elaine nodded, [Is that your final decision?] Vince nodded, [She's an alpha princess.] Dalia smirked and wagged her tail.

Next up was Antonio. He was something special, he breezed right through the guardians and warriors. Then he got to Quil. Antonio growled and bored into Quil's forest green eyes. Quil growled right back and didn't look away from Antonio's honey brown eyes. Antonio snarled and stood at his full wolf height, thinking he had this in the bag. Then Quil shook out his fur, stretched, and stood. He towered over Antonio and he stared him down. Antonio snarled, but looked away. He looked at Elaine, [I wish to stay below Quil, but above the warriors.] Elaine nodded, [Is this your final decision?] Antonio nodded defeated.

Last but not least was Lariat. The former alpha of the BloodStar pack. He barely glanced at the first 200 people, then he got to Dalia and he had to growl at her. Then he got to me. His brown eyes held authority, but I didn't care. I was an alpha princess. He can't control me. He started growling and I scoffed at his attempt to make me submit. He got into my face and started snarling, my blue eyes met his brown eyes and I snarled at him. His eyes widened as I started taking steps toward him. He backed up, but his eyes never left mine. The fur at my neck stood straight up and my fangs were bared. I stalked towards him, and I saw that he started getting nervous. I took that to my advantage and I barked at him leaping forward. He whimpered and fell back. I smirked, flicked my tail and trotted back to my place next to Elaine.

Lariat recovered himself, [I wish to stay under Jackie, but above him.] He shot a warning glare at Quil. Elaine looked at Quil, [Anything to say?] Quil snarled, [You will not take my place next to her. You will stay below me, but above Antonio.] Lariat snarled, [I earned that place fair and square.] Quil bared his fangs, [No. You will to be below me!] Elaine snarled, [Enough!!] They both winced. She turned to me, [Who do you want beside you?] I looked into Quil's eyes and then Lariat's. I walked up to Quil and I nuzzled him burying my face into his fur. I heard a growl and then I took my place beside Elaine. Quil took his place beside me, and then Lariat and Antonio.

Chalice, Saphira, and Damien tackled Quil and I screaming, [MOMMA! DADDY!] I smiled and nuzzled them. Lariat whimpered and looked away. Elaine snapped at them gently and they scampered back to their places. Elaine howled. I threw back my head and howled along with her. Soon enough, all of the pack, young and old were howling joyfully. My ears perked up at the sound of a new howl calling Elaine to it. Immediately, I stopped and moved next to Elaine searching for the intruder. My blue eyes scanned the perimeter, when a grey distant figure made its way towards us. I called out softly, [Quil.] He growled under his breath, [I know. HE'S here.] The figure transformed into a guy. Brown floppy hair, green eyes, gages, and tattoos. Dakota. I heard Elaine whimper behind us, [Kota..] Dalia looked up and yelled "BROTHER." She ran to him but i was faster and I pinned her to the ground. I growled at her and she whimpered at me. I got off her and nodded towards the pack, she submmited and slowly walked back to her place.
