Marinette's P.O.V.
Where am I?
What feels like a moment later, I find myself being sat upon a soft surface. I feel a cool hand cup my cheek and I lean into it as my eyes open.
Only inches from my face, two bright green eyes stare into my own. They look glossy, and I can feel his breath fan across my face. His breathing changes when he sees my eyes are open.
"Oh Marinette, I'm so glad you're okay." He mutters, mirroring his other hand on the other side of my face. He wipes away dried tears from my face and gives me a small smile.
"Chat?" I say in a small whisper. His grin grows but I can still see the small tears at the corners of his eyes.
"Yes. Please stay here until I come back to get you. I'll be right back, try to get a little rest." He removes his hands and stands up straight. He retrieves his baton from his side and flicks it open. "LB and I will take care of the akuma, please be safe and stay here."
With that, he leans down and presses his soft lips to my head. Straightening up again without looking in my eye, he quickly leaves the room, but not before making sure the door is shut and secure.
I'm left staring at the place he once stood. Shaking my head twice, I open my purse and Tikki zips out.
"We need to help Chat! Now."
I nod without a word, and say the two words that transform me into a different person; one covered in red spandex with small black spots.
I always felt more confident with the mask- I couldn't explain it. It's like a whole new me, and I suppose it was. People didn't see Marinette, they saw someone they looked up to. I had always been a helper, but now I could do more than just give people free baked goods.
Now I could help save Paris.
I open the door and run out it, preparing for a fight. Finding no one, I start running down the hallway towards the commotion.
At least the victim hadn't left the school yet.
I find the akuma at the base of the large set of stairs, Chat with his baton around her neck like a bar holding her in place. Before he knows it, she jabs him in his chest and his grip falters. Finding a vantage point, she smirks and jumps away.
"You'll pay. All of you!" she screams.
A purple butterfly outline appears around her eyes, and she grows silent. I go to motion to Chat to grab her, but he lays shaking on the ground.
My eyes widen and I run to him.
"Chat?? C'mon we gotta finish this. Are you okay?"
He looks up at me and points to something on his rib cage. On his left side, there was a skull like object stuck to him. Without a word, I take his baton from the ground and use it to pry it off him. He immediately stops shaking and takes a deep breath.
"That was a cat-astrophe." he mutters. I could tell he was making a joke, but he was clearly in pain.
I force a laugh as I handed his weapon back. Just as we turned around, Soul Breaker turns to us and the Moth outline disappears.
"Give me your Miraculous!"
"He has got to get more creative." Chat mutters.
I roll my eyes and get ready to fight.
"Lucky Charm!" I shout happily, throwing up my yolo into the air. I awaited the item, but it never dropped.
In confusion, I look up and gasp. In the air floated tens of ghosts; one holding a spotted glove.
