The next morning, Noelle didn't even get out of bed. She just stayed there and thought about all the visions she'd been having. None of them made sense to her but it was possible that the most recent one made the least amount of sense. She couldn't understand what the man meant by the words, her present self and not her human self. Did that mean she wasn't human? Then, what was she?As these questions ran through Noelle's mind, she heard a knock on the door followed by the door opening slightly after a few seconds. Andrew popped his head in with his eyes tightly closed. "Are you decent, Noelle?"
Noelle almost laughed at his scrunched up face before replying coyly, "you can open your eyes Andrew, I don't mind."
The tips of Andrew's ears immediately flushed a deep red as he put his hands over his already closed eyes. "Can you please put something on then? This is very uncomfortable for me."
Noelle chuckled softly at him before saying, "I was just kidding, I'm actually fully clothed. Don't worry."
Andrew let out an exasperated sigh and slowly opened his eyes and removed his hands that were covering them. "You could've just told me that in the beginning!"
"Yeah, I could have but it was way more fun watching you blush like that." Noelle laughed softly as Andrew's cheeks turned a light shade of red.
"Anyway, aren't you coming down for breakfast? It's almost ten," Andrew asked, trying to change the topic.
Noelle's expression immediately changed and she looked down at her hands, avoiding Andrew's eyes. "No, I'm not really hungry."
"What do you mean you're not hungry? You skipped dinner last night, of course you must be hungry!" Andrew said, his eyes narrowing.
"Well, I'm not," Noelle stated firmly.
"What's wrong Noelle? You were acting weird yesterday and now you're acting weird again! Please tell me what's going on with you," Andrew said, looking at Noelle with an almost pleading expression.
"I'm fine Andrew. Yesterday, I was just tired from all the rides and stuff and today, I'm just not hungry. That's all, it's not a big deal," Noelle said slowly.
Andrew took in her words and the fact that she was still not meeting his eyes and felt himself getting angrier by the second. He had basically poured his heart out the day before and she couldn't even tell him what was bothering her! The thought annoyed him so much that he didn't even realise he had been speaking for a while now. "Don't lie to me Noelle. After everything I shared with you yesterday, you'd think that maybe you trusted me enough to tell me when something's bothering you but no, I guess you don't!"
Noelle looked up at Andrew, startled by his outburst and ready to deny his accusations before she noticed the hurt swirling in his eyes, at least until Andrew blinked it away, replacing it with a defiant look.
"You're right Andrew. I was lying, I just can't make sense of anything right now and I don't want to bring you into it," Noelle said, sighing softly.
"What do you mean Noelle? What exactly can't you make sense of? Tell me." Andrew slowly sat down at the foot of her bed and looked at her expectantly.
"Well, do you remember what Julia told you about my flashbacks?" Noelle asked slowly.
"Yes I do, but how do you know she told me?" Andrew asked with a confused expression.
"Um...I kind of overheard you both talking about it when I went down to get a glass of water," Noelle replied, with an almost sheepish expression painting her face.
