Ella felt the demon inside of her taking over. It isn't Devi, no it's something darker. Edward hugged her in attempt to calm her down. She wasn't screaming, she couldn't but she was fighting with all of her strength the fiend inside of her.

"Shh," Edward tried to sooth her. "I'm right here." He whispered in her ear.

"I-I c-can sm-smell the blo-blood." She said through gritted teeth.

Edward picked her up bridal style and zoomed out of the house and away from the blood. He didn't stop until he was at the meadow. Ella was clutching to his shirt as the scent of Brian's blood disappeared.

Edward didn't set her down. He cradled her in his arms and sang to her. Her body shook and Edward felt useless. The love of his life was going through something he couldn't control. He liked being in control and with Ella there was never any control and it's one of the things he loved being with her.

After an hour, her breathing became steady.

"I'm sorry." Her voice was hoarse. Edward set her down on her feet but kept her close.

"Don't be, Ella, it's something you had no control over."

Ella shook her head. "No, I could've killed Brian, I wanted to. I wanted so badly, Eddie. His blood was calling out to me."

Edward's body stiffens. Could Brian be Ella's singer? No, because her blood sang to him, there couldn't be a triangle here. No, he couldn't lose Ella now that he barely got her back. But he also couldn't prevent her from being truly happy.

"Ella..." He paused trying to choose the right words.

But Ella wasn't listening. "I'm a monster... a freak!" She sobbed into his chest.

"NO! You're no monster, Ella." Edward comforted.

"Yes, I am. If he would've been with any normal girl-"

"Ella, stop it." Edward shook her.

She glared at the ground.

"How can you be so... understanding? I almost cheated on you, I was cheating you."

"That wasn't you."

"Part of me was, I knew where it was leading and I didn't stop myself."

"Please don't beat yourself up and I'll admit it burned everything inside of me seeing you kiss him like that... that way your legs were wrapped around his torso... and his... thoughts." He couldn't go on. "You're not a monster." He wasn't sure who he was trying to convince, her or himself.

Ella saw his suffering and her heart ached.

"I should've had more control."

"You needed to feed it was unlucky that he broke the glass."

"What the hell am I going to say to him next time I see him?" She asked herself.

"Let's not worry about that, let's feed."

Ella lifted her head off the deer and wiped the blood with the back of her hand. Her throat was now satisfied; the burning lowered but didn't stop. It never did.

Edward took Ella back to his room. She wrapped her arms around his torso and used his chest as a pillow. Edward listened to Ella sleep. He sometimes envied her because she was half mortal. She could dream, eat and most of all sleep.
