Chapter 15

Wendy's POV
I told Romeo the reasons why I was sad and he just stood there staring at me for a minute or two. He ran his hand through his hair and looked at me. "So the reason why your upset is because you miss your old guild?" I nodded my head. "You must think I'm pathetic huh?" I didn't aim the question at him but he just answered it anyway. "No." I looked at him surprised. "W-what do you mean by no?" I asked him. He looked me straight in the eyes. "I mean No I don't think your pathetic! Your actually really awesome." I could've sworn that he blushed but it must've been my imagination. "Your performance in the Grand Magic Games proved that you can fight and ensure harsh conditions. Where in there do you see yourself being pathetic?" I was speechless,  I mean it's not everyday that the boy you love gives you a confidence boost. Wait a minute. I looked back up at him. "Why, if you don't mind me asking, did you come talk to me if you've been avoiding me all week?" He definitely blushed that time. He scratched the back of his neck. "Well um you see I wasn't avoiding you because I don't like you, I mean I do like you but I was avoiding you for a different reason." I nodded my head in understanding. "Ok I just wanted to know." I smiled at him.
Romeo's POV
We were just sitting there when Lucy and Natsu walked out of the guild. They were laughing and Natsu kept tickling Lucy. Wendy sighed. "What's wrong?" I asked raising my eyebrow. She looked on at Lucy and Natsu in what I think was jealously. "I just wish I could have a mate like that. I mean they seem so happy together and...." She didn't continue, just sat there looking at them in longing. "So who's your mate?" I tied to ask in a cheerful voice but even I could hear a bit of sadness laced in that sentence. She sighed sadly and looked at the ground. "Honestly, no one. I haven't even asked him if he wanted to be my mate yet." She blushed while saying that. "Well come on! I'll help you ask him. I bet he would say yes I mean he had to!" I chuckled and she giggled. 'Geez she's so, so. She's so cute and hot!' "I don't think it would be that simple." She said nervously twirling her hair. "Why? Who is it?" She blushed even more. "Well it's um hard to explain because um I uh kind of..." I couldn't help but smile at her. Her shy side is adorable. We walked into the Guild. I sat across from her trying to get who she wanted to be her mate. Every time I asked her, she blushed and looked away. I heard her whisper something but I couldn't hear her because Gray and Gajeel were getting in a fight. I leaned in closer to her. "What did you say?" She didn't hear me so I leaned closer. "R-Romeo what a-are you doing?" I chuckled at her again. "I couldn't hear what you said so." I shrugged my shoulders laughing. That's when I noticed how close we were. I was close enough to kiss her. She faced me and about to say something when a table hit her back sending her toppling on top of me. She was opening her mouth to say sorry and get off of me, but she didn't get the chance to say anything when Gray tumbled over the table, his leg hitting Wendy's head. I felt something soft on my lips and I opened my eyes. I blushed when I noticed Wendy on top of me her lips on mine. She opened her eyes and looked at me. She blushed and tried to get off of me but slipped and landed on my chest. She struggled more but looked to see Gray on top of her. She let out a threatening growl and tried to get him off of her but to no avail. I chuckled and stopped her from moving. "Wendy." "Yes Romeo?" "Who did you want to be your mate?" I knew that with her thinking of a way to get Gray off of her back, she would answer without hesitating. "I wanted my mate to be you." She said trying to push Gray off. "What?" She stopped and looked down at me. She must've just processed what she just said because she blushed and covered her mouth with her hand. "Oh my Mavis. Did I say that" she whispered. I nodded. "I- it's fine if you don't want to be my mate I mean" "Wendy." "It's not like expected you to accept because" "Wendy." " and I thought that you probably like Chelia and you" Man this girl talks to much. I rolled my eyes as she rambled on and on. Finally I had enough, I grabbed the back of her head bringing her face to mine and kissed her. She froze get eyes widening before kissing back which shocked me. She pulled away and looked at me. I smirked. "Well that shut you up pretty quickly." She playfully slapped my head and kissed me again. I kissed her back before making her sit up pulling away. That's when I remembered. We were still in the god damn guild. Everyone was staring at me and Wendy. Slowly they started clapping then whistling and cheering. Wendy blushed a red that put Erzas hair to shame. I just smiled and held her hand laughing as she blushed even more.
