You were a very smart human being. You knew how to do many kinds of math problems in your head, or you could write an awesome essay by whatever date it was due with absolute ease. The problem is that you hated these things. You wanted to be an artist. To draw and paint and just express anything you want through your work. Your dear brother, Gordie, loved telling stories. Back when you were at home, you love to take advantage of this gift that he had. You would make him sit down with you and Denny, and then tell a story. As he was narrating, you would draw or paint whatever he was talking about.
~Time Skip~
Rounding the corner, you spotted a little corner shop. You decided to pop in to see if there was any good snacks. As you walked in, you crashed right into a younger boy.
"Uhm, I'm so sorry," you mumbled to the boy, not really wanting to apologize for someone running into you.
"(Y/N)?!?" You looked up into the wide brown eyes of your older brother, Gordie.
"Oh god I'm so happy to see you!!! I can't wait to bring you home. You'll have to meet the guys an---"
You cut him off, "Gordie, slow down. One thing at a time okay? How have you been?"
You two made small-talk as he walked you to what seemed to be a rickety old treehouse.
"Hey Gordo, where are you taking me," you inquired.
The boy just responded with a cheeky,
"You'll see."
You two walked up to the treehouse and he knocked on the old trapdoor in a series of bashes. The door opened and you were greeted by a lovely,
"Screw you!"
Gordie climbed up to the treehouse and said a few things to the people inside. He popped his head out of the trapdoor next, and said a quiet,
"You can come up now (Y/N)." You hoisted yourself into the treehouse and saw who your dear brother had been conversing with a few seconds ago.
"(Y/N), these are my friends." There were three other boys in the small space.
"First off, this is Chris Chambers," Gordie gestured to a boy who had spiked up blondish hair and beautiful bright blue eyes.
He gave you a slight smirk and a friendly nod of acknowledgement. You smiled back. Your brother then continued,
"This is Teddy Duchamp," he showed off another boy with longer, shaggy, blonde and brown hair.
He had adorable black glasses sitting a bit crooked on his face.
"Uhm, I love your glasses, but they're a bit crooked." He laughs a high-pitched cackle and turns to you.
"Really?" He questioned.
You scoot past Gordie and gently fix his glasses on his face. You notice his cheeks tint a light pink. He cackles again and you return to your place next to your brother. Gordie smiles gently at you and points to the last boy,
"And that, (Y/N), is Vern Tessio." The last boy looked a little bit younger than the rest and shorter.
He was shorter/taller than you as well. He smiled up at you, because he was sitting on the floor, and said,
"It's really nice to meet you! Sincerely!"
You chuckled a little and replied, "Well it's nice to meet you too,
Vern." You turned back to Gordie waiting for him to tell the guys who you were.
"Guys, this is (Y/N), my younger sister! She's finally home and here to stay."
You hung around he treehouse for the rest of the day and they guys even taught you how to play some card games. Right now you were completely beating their asses until Gordie nudged your shoulder.
"Hey (Y/N), I think we should get back to the house. I gotta tell you something when we get there." You nodded, a bit curious, and bid the guys a fair well and a kind smile.
You followed Gordie back to the house. He looked quite sad, actually, and turned to you,
"(Y/N) there is something very important that you need to know. Last month, Denny got into a car crash," You started breathing heavy, already knowing where this was heading.
Gordie hesitated, then continued,
"He didn't make it out. Denny is gone." You burst out into tears.
Gordie hugged you close, trying to comfort you, but didn't succeed. Dry heaves were escaping your mouth as you clung to Gordie.
"Why didn't they call me home?!? WHY DIDN'T THEY BRING ME HOME FOR DENNY'S FUNERAL, GORDIE?" You started shouting.
He pulled back and looked you in your (E/C) eyes. You could see the tears in his eyes forming.
"Welcome home (Y/N)."
Okay I hope you enjoyed this part. I know it's short and super crappy, but I promise I'll get better and try to make the chapters longer. Feedback would be awesome, telling me what I can make better and whatever else. Anyway, I will get the next part out soon. Thank you for reading! Love you all!~Emma
