"It can't be true" she whispered as she dropped the phone on her bedside table. "Hello, Hello, Nadeen listen to me carefully", Mama said in a sorrowful voice.

"She wants to talk to you before going to the operation theatre. We are all depending on you my dear, your father is on a business trip so he can't talk to her but you can. You know you are the only two people she listens to so please talk to her and make her change her mind. She also said she has something important and private to tell you, Audu isn't here so hail a cab and come, okay?"
"Insha Allah i will be there soon Mama, just please tell her not to take any decision in a haste."
"Ya Allah, grant me a mind free of worry", she prayed before stepping out of the house to face what Allah has in store for her. She went straight to the junction and stood by the roadside to wait for an empty cab. This is the first time she is entering a cab alone with no one by her side.

As soon as she got a cab she told the driver to hurry up and take her to Garden City Specialist Hospital. By the time they reached she was debating whether or not she would be able to see her sister because tears were threatening to spill and she couldn't hold them for long. She closed her eyes and let the tears cascade down her pale cheeks, after she was sure tears won't fall down for some time she opened the door of the car, stepped down and set for the door of the hospital. Mere words couldn't explain how she felt, instead of being curious about the private thing she is going to tell her, she was afraid. Afraid whether or not she would be able to stop her. She knew how very stubborn she could be but she still knew there are a few chances that she could stop her. Or maybe not.

"Nadeen please go now. Please. Talk to her and make her understand. I beg of you." Mama cried and knelt. Nadeen's eyes popped out of their sockets because of how miserable mama looked and of the fact that she just knelt. "What is this mama? How can you kneel? Please get up. I will talk to her now. But mama, no promises. Am not sure she will listen and you know how adamant she is", said Nadeen as she took hold of Mama's shoulders and pulled her up only to find herself in mama's embrace. "Please save her", were the last word mama whispered as she turned on her heel and left the corridors of Nadia's hospital room in a rush.

Sighing, Nadeen turned on her heel but instead of following mama she turned to the direction of Nadia's (hospital) room. She clutched onto her denim long skirt tightly and turned the door knob. The door clicked open in response and there laid an almost lifeless lady who looked extremely pale as if she just heard the worst news during her entire existence as a human being. Nadia's thoughts were interrupted by the sound of the door and she sat upright. "Nadeen", she whispered in an almost inaudible voice but Nadeen managed to hear her due to the thick silence in the room. "Yaya (a way of adressing elder siblings) Nad, please keep this crazy idea to yourself. I can't do this. I know how much you love your child but you can also let it go. If Allah wills you will definitely have a baby. We all know I can't let you do this and I won't.
