Kendall POV
After pressuring and begging Dad to tell us who it was, and him just saying, "I'm not telling, now leave it alone", we finally gave up.
Desi texted me almost immediately.
-Got any suggestions?
I thought for a while, and realized I was drawing a total blank after wiping out a few dumb ideas that would get us nowhere. I shook my head.
-Nada. You?
She looked at me suddenly, smirking.
-When in doubt, call the squad.
-Uh, yeah, what a great idea. It's almost 9pm. Next.
I texted sarcastically.
-They can totally stay over. It's the weekend. We can make up a scenario where they need to come over!
She pressed, trying to convince me.
-Plus it's summer, it's still light outside for another hour!
I wasn't convinced, but she she added them to a group text and told them her plan.
-Mention that my parents are out of town and so are Phoenix's and that we're alone and a little scared. Kyler suggested.
-Done. Desi replied.
She looked up at me. "Hey Kenny, have you talked to Phoenix or Ky?"
I shook my head. "No, why? What's up?"
"Both of their parent's are on business trips and left them home alone. Phoenix is freaking out right now, she thinks that the same car keeps driving past her house." Desi stated casually, adding that last little touch. Sneaky sneaky.
I saw Dad's eyebrows raise. "They're home alone? Not together, but at their own houses?"
"Yeah."
Dad massaged his temples. "Tell them to come over."
"Only Kyler has her license though." I told him.
"Then tell her to be ready in 15, I'll send a driver." Dad said firmly.
Mission accomplished. Shortly after, Phoenix and Kendall arrived, duffle bags in hand.
"Thanks so much for inviting us Uncle Ax. I was freaked the fu....dge out." Nix hugged him. Dad's face turned from stern to nice after she said fudge. "Anytime honey." Did he really just fall for that?
***in Kendall's room***
"So I have a plan." Phoenix said, sitting on the floor cross legged.
We all stared at her expectantly.
"Well?" I demanded after a whole 3 second pause, feeling anxious about her scheming.
"We sneak in his room and take his phone."
All three of our jaws dropped.
"What?" She raised her hands defensively. "Unless you have some better plan?"
Annnd we didn't. So....
"Let's do it."
