[ E D I T E D ]KILL YOUR MIND
❝life is simply a mix of mayhem and magnolias, so embrace this gentle riot and gather flowers along the way.❞02. Solider's Sacrifice
IT HAD DEFINITELY BEEN A SIGHT TO SEE. With half the roads closed by piled up cars, the street in front of the girls was completely bare of people. There were puffs of smoke escaping a few of the cars along the road, many flipped over onto their sides or onto their roof along with multiple bullet marks grazing their sides, and the faint wail of sirens pierced the air. The smoke was blurring the girls view. The only way for them to get a proper look at the destruction was to go closer to the ground. Of course, that probably wasn't the wisest decision to be made and yet Elizabeth Tyler still found herself silently walking down the outer fire escape on the thirteenth floor.
Katherine had promised to stay up high, knowing she would be better help on the roof of the building they had been on, and she'd agreed to run away from the scene if things went south. Though her counterpart was an incredibly useful asset when it came to logistics and direction, the small girl couldn't hold her own in a fight. Her interfering would end badly for them both. There was no way she'd be able to look after Katherine along with herself with the smoke as thick as it was. Everything was particularly hazy, inhaling large quantities of the fumes had made Elizabeth mildly disorientated as she walked, and the faint outline of a person seemed to be in the distance, but her eyes just couldn't seem to focus in time.
BANG
An explosion tails off to the right of Elizabeth, forcing her to take cover under a nearby wrecked car, and it soon becomes dangerously obvious that the outline was indeed a person. The person could only be an enemy. No one could cause this much destruction and still be considered an ally, especially considering the arsehole shot a fucking rocket launcher at her.
Rolling over to another car, Elizabeth dared to get a better look at the suspect and strained her eyes to see past the thick dust dancing in the air. Only a slight gleam of metal could be seen and even then, it was faint. The whole situation was far more dangerous than the girl had first anticipated. First believing it to be a simple car accident pile up, Elizabeth hadn't felt threatened and yet now it was obvious who this was. Only one organization could wipe out a whole street like this without granting immediate SWAT team action.
Hydra
Just thinking of them made Elizabeth shudder. Her past with Hydra wasn't a pleasant nor personal one and she knew that they were still itching to get a hold of her after their previous fleeting meeting. She knew she had to get out of there, and quick, but it was becoming increasingly difficult to find a feasible escape route as the figure in the distance shot bullets at the car she was hiding behind. Breathing heavily, Elizabeth strained her neck to look up at the building roof tops, searching for her companion, but finds no one. Letting out a sigh of relief, she could only hope that Katherine had had the sense to evacuate the area immediately after the explosion was let off. Now, alone and with no chance of escaping, Elizabeth Tyler found herself listening to the footsteps coming towards her. They were close. They were getting closer.
