I really hope you don't expect me to be nice

Peering through the tears in her eyes, ones drawn there by the strong winds coming from the quinjet ready to launch, both Elizabeth and Steve stand a few feet away. The walk to the rooftops had been awkward, there was no other way to describe it. Being surrounded by over thirty guards and forced to wear a costume that could only be compared to a straight jacket, with her arm firmly tied to her opposite hip, Elizabeth couldn't really be optimistic. Steve had tried to show her some freedom. Him and the head of security had spent over ten minutes arguing over human rights (Steve only saying the phrase 'back in my day' twice) before she'd slammed her fist into one of the guard's noses and begged for them to get it over with. The blonde-eyed hero had given her a look of pure disappointment which, though she hated to admit it, made her feel a twinge of guilt. At least, she felt guilty enough to mutter a sorry to him before being pushed forward to begin walking.

Now, they were both alone, or at least as close as they'd come to being by themselves. Lines of military style patrollers stood watch, dark black sunglasses fading their stoic faces slightly, like hawks and seemed only moments away from tackling her to the ground. Elizabeth guessed that having an omnipotent being with the ability to kill in a mere millisecond stood next to America's World War Two war veteran sweetheart could become incredibly nerve wrecking for those who were sworn to protect said sweetheart. Then again, she also knew that she wouldn't wish to harm a single hair on his head so their anxiety was being wasted.

And for a while, they just stood there. Staring up at the quinjet as though it were a ticking time bomb. Elizabeth, in fact, was still stood there, looking up at their mode of transport, when she felt Steve's fingers graze along her sides. She had jumped slightly at the sudden contact, causing every guard in vision to rise their weapons in a heartbeat, but Steve just frowned as he undid the tight straps at her sides.

Thank you.

She muttered, honestly meaning it this time, as her arms came free from her hips. Quickly rolling her shoulders back and looking up at the tall man, a small knowing smile crossed her lips. Meeting her eyes, Steve mirrored her smile before looking back up sharply. Someone on the intercom had begun barking orders and there now appeared to be a man's arm coming from the quinjet and motioning for them to continue forward. Without thinking, Elizabeth began to move closer, but Steve stayed planted to the ground, a frown now gracing his features.
