"Prince Vladimir rebelled against his father the King and mother the Queen when they had ordered for every young maiden in the kingdom to attend a ball. Vladimir wasn't pleased by this. His parents forced him to attend. He was to dance with every young lady. But he slipped out. No one could find him. It is believed he had ran away but only for a night for it seemed he was back the next morning. But he was different. Every night, around the same time, the Prince disappeared. He would return the same time and continue his studies while his parents continued the search for a bride fit for their son. However, one night he left same as always but wasn't seen or heard for again."
"Wow! That's crazy!" Jax said. He was driving again. He had let me take over for ten minutes before taking back over.
"Yeah! It's so cool though!" I shouted from the back.
Jax started to laugh crazily again, "Remember when I first met Xavier and Aimee?" I chuckled. "I knew your mom was dating because she talked nonstop about this amazing man and all but the month I went to my grandparents farm he started to come over. The Tuesday I got back, I know it was a Tuesday because I remember I was so hyped for your mom's famous Taco Tuesday, and since I had a key I just barged my way in the house up to your room. You were in there laying on your bed so naturally I laid down with you and we fell asleep." I started to laugh as I recalled the next story events. "The next thing we both know is there's a man barging into the room yelling how we were trashy. I think that's the only time I've ever seen your mom ready to hit him because he pulled the both of us off of the bed and dragged us downstairs where your mother was making a gourmet dinner! No tacos whatsoever! Your mother asked him what was wrong and he told her that we were in bed together making it sound like we were doing something. Your mom grabbed our arms out of his grip and told him that he was mistaken." Jax stopped for a breather, "Your mom told him that we've been friends since Pre-K. He started to grumble under his breath about how we weren't allowed in a room together without someone else there. Your mom told everyone dinner was done and placed a spot for me at the actual table. Usually we just eat in your room or in the living room with your mom. So I took it upon myself to say," Jax paused, "What's with the fancy food? Isn't today Taco Tuesday? I remember the look on his face when I asked that."
"Yeah I had just taken a big sip of water when you asked that! I couldn't hold my laughter in so water went everywhere!" I laughed.
"Oh my God do you remember what Aimee did?" Jax asked.
"Oh my goodness! She screamed so loud I swear the wine glasses broke!"
"I know and he had the nerve to blame it on us!" Jax laughed.
"Wow they really do hate us!" I laughed. Jax stopped laughing making it serious.
"Your mom doesn't hate you Phee." Jax said sadly.
"I know but she cares more about Xavier and his happiness and Aimee's. Aimee is so perfect! Aimee won best dressed at her little Miss pageant! Why can't you be like that Phoenix What should I make Xavier for dinner? Do you think Xavier would like a couple new ties and suit? Its like shes' lost all of her spunk! We used to make fun of the wives who did everything for their husbands. The ones who had no backbone! And now she's one! I just wish she was back to normal." I started to tear up. Jax pulled over, avoiding the cars on the road, and climbed in the back with me. He held me and let me cry into his shoulder. He whispered calming words telling me how perfect I was, how beautiful I was, and how strong I was. All lies.
"Phee please don't cry." Jax asked. "Shh just sleep." He said playing with my hair. Soon the darkness swallowed me whole.
"You are stronger then you think my little princess. You are close to the next painting. I love you my strong, warrior princess. I'll see you soon." A man's voice told me in the darkness that was behind my eyes. "Wake up Phee!" Jax shaked me. Shaked me? How was he driving?! "Look at the road!" I yelled opening my eyes, shooting up, hitting my head into Jax's. "What the-Jax?!"
"Shh calm down! It's late and we're stopping to have a little fun!" He pointed over my shoulder. We we're parked in a parking lot with the fair set up with kids running around with parents laughing, couples holding hands, and rides. "I thought it was fitting since this was your parents first date."
"How'd you know that?" I asked.
"I remember you told me that if you were to get asked out you'd want to got to the fair just as your parents had their first date." Jax answered. I faintly remember telling him that. I squeal anyway and get out of the car. Jax locks it. I jump on his back making him stumble a little but it's Jax so he's good. He grabbed my legs and holds me in so I won't fall. He runs to the ticket booth with me still on with everyone staring at us but seriously Jax and I are used to this. We've always been weird. I slide off when Jax pays for a bracelet for the both of us. Firstly Jax takes me to this ride that makes you feel like your about to fall out of the darn thing when it spends you up, down, right side up and upside down!! I started to yell at Jax telling him the safety harness, seatbelt, lock thingy was coming lose! And you know what he did! He laughed at me! He held the thing though. But I was so scared!! He had to help we when we got off because I was so dizzy! He pulled me off to another ride, where they flipped you in mid-air! He's trying kill me! He pulled me to another ride called The Ring of Fire, basically you went back and forth until you did a full circle upside down! I wasn't as scared until I literally hovered out of my seat when we were upside down. That was scary. Jax made me get on almost every ride. Even the boat thing that swings back and forth. I wasn't scared of that one at all.
"Jax! Oh my goodness I think I'm gonna die!" I yell when we are taken up.
"Calm down!" Jax yelled over the others who were yelling.
Suddenly the death box we are in drops! And so does my heart! When we get out I literally can't walk! Jax picks me up and throws me over his shoulder. "Jax can we win something?" I ask. Jax nods and takes us to a dart-popping-balloon game. He knows I have bad aim! I get off of him. Before I can use my money Jax pays for the both of us. I slightly kick him in the shin. He rolls his eyes but keeps his goofy smile on his face. We have three darts each. I hit three balloons making four pop! But of course Jax has to be a show off and make six balloons pop! I get a choice between a small bunny or small bird. Of course I chose the bunny. But Jax had the choice between a huge gorilla, a fluffy unicorn, and a panda. He got the fluffy unicorn and handed it to me. The man at the stand awe's. I hand him the bunny, keeping my gaze at the ground. He chuckled and grabbed my hand pulling me away. "Can we go on the farris wheel?" I asked. Jax nodded and pulled me to the wheel. We waited our turn. When it was our turn we climbed in with the stuffed animals in our laps. Jax asked the man if he could stop it at the top. He nodded and started it. Jax grabbed my hand and held it up to his lips. He placed a little kiss in my knuckles before turning my head to look at the sky. We looked out. It was beautiful. Jax wrapped his arm around me and squeezed.
"It's beautiful." I whispered.
"Not as beautiful as you." Jax whispered back. I turned to look at him. He was staring at me. And I was staring at him. We both leaned in slowly. Just as we were about to meet the Farris wheel started back up making us jolt away from each other. I cleared my throat and pulled the fluffy unicorn to my chest. As soon as we were able to get off I bolted. Jax grabbed me and pulled me back. "Let's get something in your stomach." He said pulling me to a stand. He bought some nachos for us to share. We ignored the obvious almost kiss finishing up the nachos. Jax and I were ready to leave. I hugged the unicorn to my chest as I followed him back to the car. "Are you tired?" He asked. I simply nodded. He stopped dead in his tracks and picked me up.
"What's with holding me today?" I asked.
"Nothing." We arrived at the car. Jax first checked that no one was in the back seat, he started doing that since he watched a movie about urban legends. He unlocked the car and put me in the front. I snuggled into the seat and waited for him get in. He started the car. We got on the interstate and rode in silence. I pulled the book out and continued to read.
I learned from the book that the prince was the head warrior in all the wars. He led his men into battle and they won ever single time. His parents found him a wife suitable to be his princess. But the prince's disappearances had made the whole kingdom become suspicious. They believed he had a mistress. They believed he and the mysterious women were together romantically.
I started to fall asleep after finishing that section welcoming the darkness.
