Long ago, the earth was silent, dark and filled with nothing but horrifying beasts of absolute terror and devastation, they were monsters constantly looking out for human blood to gorge on, and thus, always having their pitch black fur coats covered in red.
The humans were weak and frail, too defenseless to possibly go against the tides of nature and its undefiable way of life, they only shook in terror among the trembling branches of the bare trees, fore they haven't seen the light of day for centuries, since they were always covered by their bigger brothers, who were covered by their mothers, and so on.
But in the day, the predators of the shadows would banish themselves to their caves and await their time of power again, patiently waiting for the few stays of sun to disperse and grant them the might to hunt til their heart's content.
Man has tried again and again to collect themselves, to form a herd and gain strength in the form of a pack, but the mighty wolves with their fangs easily tore them apart again and again, leaving nothing left but ruins and sorrow, man could never triumph in a forest where beast ruled the nights and haunted the days, with the memory of them left behind in marks and echoes, for man didn't know how to fight like their demons did.
Until one day, man had devised a plan, something that could save their offspring the hardships and horror there was on a daily basis in their lives, and thus, with using all the items at their disposal, and all the prayers they knew, man created a miracle, and wiped out a speckle of the forest in one day, they created one, tiny safe haven for them all.
They praised the heavens and danced in the sun's light, boasting to the thorns of the forest that no longer could haunt them, laughing at the beasts that dared not set foot in man's domain, there, man created a realm of their own to control, but as night once began again, the timid creatures faced by the sun became demons under the moon, and unleashed hell like none other onto the mortals.
It was then learned, that the humans wearied the night, but thrived in the light, steadily building a home of their own until it became one ginormous castle, a proud shelter of protection and survival, thus there, man learned to keep peace in the day, and terrified rest throughout the night.
But as years passed by and generations changed, the younger lives began to value different things from their one mixed culture and saw their own will as law, the ones who were ensnared by all technical creation and strived to continue evolution as well as civility, looked down upon those who scoffed at the face of change and continued to live as if born to live each moment as their last in expressions and emotions.
Soon man tore apart their own goal for unity and split their government in half to put a stop to the quarrels, the ones who desired convenient, easygoing lives, were called the nobles, while the ones who sought only the simple pleasure of living, were called the rebels, and both sides once again found peace by keeping to themselves.
By now all stories of the forest have become mere legend, all historic battles once told around the campfire, became silly and fantastical tall tales, the beasts that once shook a man to their core with their mere mention, became a boogeyman that frightened children to behave, but one thing remains the same, no one has ever dared to intrude upon the dark forests around them, for there was a reason man could never survive the wilds.

She was running, that was all she could think right now, even if she tried to think of something else her mind would come up fruitless, she was so driven to get away, so frightened to keep on moving, she couldn't even remember anything else in that moment, not her destination, not her goal, not even her own name was important at this time, all she needed, was to flee.
The beast roared behind her, gaining on her every trip and stumble, red bloodshot eyes filled with the need for her bloodshed, growling as it's stomach painfully rumbled once again for nourishment, making the beast run even faster for it's next meal, it's ribs showed from under all of the stained fur, but to the small child that only made it more imposing and deadly.
The child bit down on painful cries trying to make their way up her throat as more thorns mercilessly shredded her toughened skin and clothes the thicker the brambles became, but fearing her fate to that beast kept her going until it was merely a suffocating tunnel of spikes.
Not being able to stand inside the tight space, the girl forcefully pushed herself through the sharp thorns, too filled with adrenaline to feel them brutally pierce and tear her tender flesh, though the animal once gaining on her was left snarling and snapping at the entrance she went into, too massive to fit inside such a small space.
As the child continued to force herself through, her (E/C) eyes immediately shrunk when a bright light assaulted her vision, the thorny tunnel finally coming to an end, the child pushed her head against the branches and forced her head through, almost left completely breathless at the sight ahead.
The sun graciously lent a welcoming warmth to her tattered and bloody skin, finally making her realize how self destructive her escape root was, feeling her toes going numb from the blood loss, she was quick to use her shoulders to finally make her pop out and land in the dirt.
Using her own willpower as a fighting tool against death, the child slowly made herself stand, wordlessly becoming amazed when the wind lovingly brushed through her (H/C) hair to clear her sight, while the sun continued to kiss her cold, damaged body, her eyes continued to shine in wonder seeing the strange structures in the distance, all worn and torn almost as much as she was.
The fear that once controlled her, finally started to melt away and return to her the memories of her life amongst the monsters, amongst the forest of nothing but nightmares, where she learned to fight and defend ever since she was born, where violence and survival was all she had ever known.
Her parents were dead, slain by the might of that horrendous glutton who was never satisfied, even after tearing the two of them up and swallowing them whole, the beast pursued her as if it still hasn't devoured a thing, but now she escaped, and now lost in a world she never experienced before, but what was her name again?
Taking a wobbly step forward, the child immediately hissed in pain, feeling as if she just stepped on a ground full of sharp rocks and thorns, but staying true to her tough nature, she continued on down to the structures seen through her bangs, humming when she finally remembered the final pieces of her identity.
That's right, she was (L/N) (Y/N), the only one ever born and raised within the depths of the forest left alive.
