Kidd paced around the village center, many faces lined up on the logs stared into his body like hawks, all monotone and serious, though if one looked closely they could easily trace the wrinkles of anger in their cheeks, yet the many youths and adults alike awaited an order, patiently they waited for the chaos to be unleashed.
Law arrived only a few hours ago.
The village elder at first was more than alarmed hearing the truth behind the black haired boy, but after listening to whatever fate the nobles had planned for their little troublemaker, Kidd and many of the other teenagers were able to talk him into letting the raven back inside their borders.
Luffy bounced his legs in anger, barely holding himself from huffing about until he hit a breaking point that would lead to violence without a plan, sitting beside him was Ace and Law, both of them left stressed beyond comprehension imagining where all the new wounds (Y/N) sported came from.
Although Law was also left wondering what would become of him if all the rebels suddenly decided he himself should also be held responsible for what happened- and he wouldn't blame them, especially since he already felt that way.
"Those fucking bastards..." Law's head jerked up to see the redhead bite his nail with moist eyes, and that was enough to send his guilt pouring out.
"It's all my fault" many of the townsfolk stopped fidgeting and glanced at the raven haired boy with a mix of pity and sympathy, "if only I was more careful, I'm so stupid" Kidd turned to face the other fully with a frown that almost looked offended, "I'm the one to blame for this, if only I paid more attention-" Law was silenced with the swift sound of skin contact.
Not even having enough time to cradle his abused cheek, the teenager was dragged up by the laced collar of his shirt, two furious hands squeezed the fabric so tightly Law nearly felt like he was being choked.
He expected a fast vengeance, a flurry of fists to rain down on him without mercy, he deserved nothing less then a good beat down by Kidd of all people, insults and vulgarity would be thrown at him and Law wouldn't have the confidence to disagree.
But what we expect and what we get, are two different things.
The runaway noble silently screamed with his eyes wide open as Kidd suddenly began to shake his entire body sideways like some martini, no violence was used when finally the redhead abruptly dropped him, Law felt nothing but a rattled head when his ass plopped into the dirt, not even his soul crushing guilt remained.
Although he did feel quite confused over the fact that he was still in one piece, wasn't he the guy everybody wanted dead at the moment? The one who instigated all this shit?
"The fuck is all this shit you spouting?!" Law didn't know how to respond, "who the hell's blaming you for this shit?!" The older boy blinked, darting his eyes around to see some kids sniggering while others just shook their heads and rolled their eyes- but no glares of hate whatsoever.
Once again Kidd dragged him back up into a standing position, "listen here punk, we don't blame family for anything, and unfortunately- and I don't even know the hell why, but everyone here already accepted you as our little brother, now the one we're mad at, is the god damn, arrogant bastard you call Spandam" Law was driven into shock.
"Can we call him Spandex?!" The raven haired boy flicked his head to the right to see a shorter reddish brown haired girl, in her fists she held a strong grip on some sort of wooden club, only sharp rocks were embedded in the tip, but the grin on her face was something that made Law weary, it kind of reminded him of (Y/n) in a way, only less intense and more playful.
Kidd roughly blushed in frustration before thrusting the smaller man away from him, "I'm family?" Law looked back to Luffy, seeing both Ace and the girl flop into the boy's side, "of course Traffy! You're a rebel like us!" The raven felt his heart burn, "one of us! One of us!" Both the girl and Ace began to chant, soon everyone was cheering it loudly like a battle cry.
Listening to everyone support him, having nobody be silently judging him or expecting anything from him, for the second time that day Law felt himself succumb to watery orbs.
"Okay enough bullshit! Time to face the situation at hand" Everyone fell silent hearing Kidd's order, "Law, you know that foretress best, what do you think is our best form of action?" Stumbling backwards, the teenager clumsily toppled onto the closest log, all ears were now waiting for his voice.
Law had a sudden thought, which then grew into a moment of a revolutionary epiphany.
This was different, the rebels were so much more different than he ever could have conceived, they truly were like a single working mechanism, something his society has tried to gain and perfect for years, and now he realized why.
Many people working as one was more complex than any noble could imagine, they were still all individual, they couldn't communicate in long distances with any fancy technology, they didn't use machines to do things for them, they did everything together, by hand.
They all couldn't be more different- but so close at once, the nobles would never grasp what they were reaching for with the direction they were heading, they lost their path long ago, a path Law feared had no happy ending, for anyone.
The nobles had to stop.
"I think-" the raven paused, as if unsure with what he was about to say, "I think, the nobles-" once again he hesitated, struggling to speak with his throat going dry, "I think the nobles, need to end" Kidd's eyes widened drastically, and many older people in the crowd gasped in disbelief.
"My- no, those people, they're not people anymore, I don't know what exactly, but the path they created is something that won't end, it will only get worse and worse, until finally there's nothing left to ruin, until everyone is left hurt" finally the dazed glaze over his eyes came into focus, and Law faced Kidd with a mask of all seriousness before standing up before him.
"That town needs to burn to the ground, I'm not going to suggest genocide- they don't deserve that- there's no justification in that, and there's no justification in asking you to bloody your hands like that, at least that's what I believe, but if they wish to rebuild everything they created with their twisted ideals and deceit, then let them do that, and let them return to their path to ruination, but one thing is for sure, I can't not at least try to stop them from self destruction" Law's eyes held a heartfelt fury, yet his face was soft and almost gentle.
Although Kidd suddenly smiled and pat the boy on his shoulders, interrupting whatever thoughts were running rampant through his head, "I don't exactly know what all those fancy words mean, but that face of yours is the mark of a true rebel! Ya guys hear Law?! We're gonna burn that hell hole to the ground and bring (Y/N) home!" The crowd cheered back, letting Law smile in awe.
They were going to bring her home and stop all this rebel, noble madness, that he could promise.

The noble soldiers guarding the outer walls to the town walked in circles almost lazily, finding their duty dull, they failed to pay any long spans of their attention on the greenery laid beyond them, most of the men left daydreaming or gazing out to the bare branches beyond.
Thunk.
One man leaned his drooping head to the side, only to have his eyes widen to the size of globes and fall back in alarm, all the soldiers on patrol froze in shock hearing a highly pitched shout that sounded almost like a haunting cackle, feeling their blood run cold many of them went to sound the alarms.
The soldier gulped down at the sight of a bloody red arrow.
