Chapter 24 - Forget Me Not

Lee Ji Hyun's POV

"Who are you?", Kris asked monotonously as if he didn't recognize me at all.

I chuckled in return. "It's not funny, Kris. Look I'm--".

"I'm not. Who--", he cut me off again and this time he stood up and took a step back. "Who are you? And where are we?", he asked as he looked around us.

"Okay... Kris. Stop joking around", I stood up and started to feel that something was wrong with him.

"I am not! Where are we?! Where are the others? Where's Jun Myeon?", he said with a higher tone.

"Suho and the others are in Seoul. I'm Ji Hyun remember? The alien stuff? Exo planet?", I was hoping that he would remember any of those, but he didn't.

"Are you our new manager or something?", he wandered around the room and picked up a travel brochure that we got yesterday. "Why are we in Prague?"

At that moment, I realized that he wasn't joking. Did I use the spell I did before in the museum without knowing? Or something else happened?

"I need to make a phone call. You wait here okay?", I told him to sit on the couch before I turned around to leave the room. He sat down, but before I walked away, he pulled my hand.

"Wait! You didn't answer my question", he looked into my eyes. The same eyes I looked into a few moments ago. The same eyes I fell into.

"Um... yes! I'm your new manager... and we're here for...", my mind trying to find an excuse. I realized that I can't tell him that we're here for the grimoire. He didn't remember anything. Me or Exo Planet. It would be difficult to explain it to him from the beginning. "...shoot. Yeah! You got yourself a role. Your movie debut? Don't you remember?", I added.

"A movie? Why can't I remember anything? Ugh, my head hurts", he let go of my hand and held his head instead. He looked like he was in pain.

"Look, why don't you take it easy? Take a seat and I will be right back, okay? I promise", I led him slowly to the couch.

I turned around to take a glimpse of him resting his head on the couch with eyes closed before I went out of the room.  The corridor was somehow more empty and colder than before. I pulled out my phone and realized that my hands were shaking. I dialed Suho's number as soon as I could.

"Hello?", Suho answered in the third ring.

"Ju- Jun Myeon-ssi, what should I do? I-- Kris is--", my voice was cracking as my legs were trembling and a tears rolled down my eyes.

"Ji Hyun-ssi, what happened?!", he started to panic on the other side.

"It's Kris. He-- he lost his memory and I don't know what happened. He only remembers his life as a singer. I--", I couldn't finish my sentence as I burst into tears in the corner of the corridor. I bit my lips to muffle my cry.

"Ji Hyun-ssi, it's Luhan. Listen, it's gonna be fine. Tao is contacting his friend in Prague just like our emergency plan. He will be fine, okay?", Luhan explained worriedly after he snatched the phone from Suho.

"What should I do?", I asked as I tried to calm myself.

"Just stay there until Tao's friend arrived. We have no other choice but to leave him in Prague".

"Leave him here?! How can I do that? He has done so much for me and I should just abandon him here?", I was getting a bit emotional.

"We're not abandoning him. We're giving him his best chance. Kris has no more chance in here because of his lawsuit against our company. So we planned to give you a safe house in China with him. But you said yourself that he doesn't remember you. How can you teleport him to China in his condition? He will think you're crazy and our secret can be exposed with Kris' current state", Luhan explained slowly to calm me down.
