which is exactly what they has done Merlin was knocked out and Arthurs arm was trapped i stayed at the tops and Mordred helped getting them back up and we went on a little longer before we set up camp for the night.
"nice to see you can manage so well without us" i smirked
"haha. what took you so long anyway."
"making a promise and no i will not tell you" Merlin stood up.
"it's time" Arthur stood as well.
"I'll take care of it" he went over to his wife while i was wrapped up in Mordred's arms
"we should get some sleep we'll have a early start in the morning" we nodded and laid down me not leaving Mordred's arms. We walked through sacred ground the next day.
"what do the banners mean" Mordred questioned
"mark for the pilgrims my love we walk on sacred site for others who also follow the old religion" i told him.
"how much further?" Arthur asked
"not long this gorge leads to the cauldron" Merlin replied and just as he said that were attacked by Authsia.
"Authasia" i gasped "Morgana is close" i added
"follow me come on" we all ran behind a boulders as we were attacked with fire
"Arthur take Gwen to safety will deal with this" he tried to protest.
"now Arthur" i glared at him and he left.
"Merlin you deal with Authasia" he nodded leaving his bags and ran out i looked up as he swooped past again and we ducked. Merlin came back and collected the bags.
"come on we need to catch up with Arthur" we left the safety of the boulder but was knocked to the ground by Morgana's magic. i groaned looking around Mordred was unconscious but Merlin wasn't
"go Merlin i will take care of this" i moaned sitting up.
"i won't leave you"
"just go now. now Merlin" i ordered he stood and ran off as shifted towards my husband and looked back.
"Mordred, come on wake up" i whispered then looked back Morgana was approaching.
"stay where you are Morgana" i shouted
"oh come now dear little sister i do not mean you any harm" she smiled
"you attempts to be the Queen of two kingdoms suggest otherwise. when will you learn Morgana i'm not a Queen because of my Pendragon birth it was my mother bloodline and destiny which sees it so"
"oh but i have learnt somewhat of a lesson seen as you are my only freedom from the Disir" i scoffed
"you think i will pardon you. never i shall wait for Emrys to bring your doom and shall have a front row seat" she tried to attack me but i blocked it. there was a grip on my arm and i looked down Mordred was awake. i helped him up.
"why haven't you tried to kill us."
"believe me she's tried and wants to" i told him
"why would i kill you Mordred you are like a brother even if you married her my sister who spites me so" she snarled at me.
"i loved you Morgana but you chose Morgouse and her darkness rather that your other two siblings. Since then you have brought nothing but darkness and hatred smeared the name of magic with your plots to kill us." i shook my head and Morgana lifted up her arm but was sent flying back i saw Mordred had protected me.
"thank you" i breathed
"anything for you...now we must go quickly" he gave me a quick kiss and we started running. We finally reached the cauldron.
"haha i knew you would make it" Arthur hugged me and with Mordred they clasp arms
"Arthur she's going to wake soon" we all parted "there is something i need to mention she has to enter willingly or the spell won't work and she'll be Morgana's slave forever" he nodded i bend down and muttered a spell before standing back.
"get ready you have to convince her to enter." he bent down and there was a soft moan followed by Gwen opening her eyes.
"Where am I? What have you done to me?" she asks shifting back startled
" You've been asleep for a long time." he answered but she get up to run away
"Get away from me!" he stops her by one arm and then grabs both
"Guinevere. My Guinevere." he states
" Your Guinevere? You stupid, foolish man. I was never yours and never will be." she struggled in his grasp.
"reach out to her Arthur i know you can" i call to him
"oh not you as well little Queen" i ignored her comment
"You loved me once." he tried
" You are easily fooled, Arthur." she denied
" And still do." he added
" It was a trick. Nothing more. A subterfuge to pass Camelot to its rightful Queen."
" I don't believe that" she continues to struggle but to no avail
"believe what you like the fact remains" she replied he tried to puller her to the water but Mordred stopped him.
"no Arthur no force" he looked at us then back at Gwen
" Do you remember when I asked you to marry me? Do you remember what you said? You said, "With all my heart." That's what you said, Guinevere. That was no subterfuge. No trickery." she stopped and stared at him blankly
"with all my heart" he backed away she repeated the same line and slowly followed we watched as Arthur entered the pool. when she took his hand and went further we recited the spell.
"Yfel gaest, ga thu fram thisselichaman. Bith hire mod eft freo. Ar ond heofonutungol sceal thurhswithan" a magic glow surrounded Gwen and she turned around holding her hand out to my brother who took it and hugged her
