Things Change [Naruto AU]

Shino widened his eyes but Hinata was unaware because of the obstructions he had including his hoodie and glasses. He looked close at her protective headband and there was a slash through Konoha's proud Leaf symbol. Shino stayed silent as he thought it over. Hinata allowed him to think because she knew that continuing to speak may not exactly win him over.

Thinking back Konoha wasn't always the best at times. For himself he didn't have many friends and the one he did have when he was young was forced to join ANBU. As he grew older he understood what his friend had to do, or else it would have been Shino that joined. After that many people ignored him or just didn't care what happened.

"What are you leaving for?" Shino asked.

"The Akatsuki and Naruto." Hinata replied.

Shino went back into thought. Naruto was the founder of the Akatsuki and he must have become rather powerful to do the infamous things that he heard of. Naruto must have approached her. After deep thoughts Shino made a decision.

"I'll go too. I wonder if he remembers me." Shino said as he grabbed a kunai and slashed his headband. "Have you talked to Kiba yet?"

"No, I wanted to see you first." He nodded and they made their way through the growing shadows to Kiba. He was riding on the back of Akamaru and the dog spotted them first. Well to be exact it smelled their familiar scents and barked happily at their direction. Kiba noticed them too and waved at them.

"Hey guys! What're you up to?" He asked loudly. Shino stepped out of the dark with a rather mysterious aura on him. Being hostile seemed to be natural to him. Kiba hopped off of the large dog and went to his teammate. They were on the edge of a road and Kiba went to them.

"What's up?" He asked with his usual cool attitude but almost shouted when he saw the headband in Shino's head. "What the hell are you wearing?" He said in a frustrated tone.

"My usual clothes." Shino said and Kiba groaned.

"I mean your headband. Hinata do you know what's going on?" She stepped out and he had the same reaction. "You too. Is this a prank?" He asked with a more serious tone this time.

"No. We came here to ask if you'd come with us?" Shino asked. Kiba glared at them.

"And become a missing nin. No way, my mom will seriously kill me." He said.

"Not if she doesn't catch you." Hinata said quietly.

"We're joining the Akatsuki. It's the group that Naruto formed. We want to know if you'd come." Shino said with a serious tone.

"So that brat did something. Huh. But still why would I join?" Kiba asked them. He found no real desire to leave or to stay. His friends and family usually helped him with decisions but this was something his mother disapproved of and his friends were leaving.

"Don't you want to be something more than what your mother is making you become? Something greater and stronger than your family allows you to be." Hinata asked. Now that was some kind of motivation for Kiba since he hung his head for a second before looking at the pair.

"Well I have no choice now do I?" He asked joking around as always.

"No." Shino stated and turned away.

"Hey, what does that mean?!" He shouted after his teammate.

"Shhh, he have to quiet and go to the gate. Naruto should be there waiting for us." Hinata said as she went into the forest for cover. Shino and Kiba followed her.
