Dark Link continued giving Zelda her meals. They would often eat together and talk about whatever was on their minds at the time. Zelda felt as if she could actually trust the shadow, but she wasn't quite sure how  to trust someone who wants to kill the hero of time. Every time dark came out of Zelda's room he felt... happy. This was new and strange to him. Whenever he was around her he got a warm and fuzzy feeling from somewhere inside him and his heart started to beat faster. Once Ganondorf realized this he was very unhappy with his creation. He knew that he would have to do something or else the shadow would turn into another Link, and he certainly couldn't have that happening.

Meanwhile all of the Drama in the castle was going on, young Link had gotten almost all the way to the dark castle. He had fought monsters and bosses all along his journey, he was tired, hungry, and determined to get his beloved Zelda at all costs. He killed the guards swiftly, careful not to make the slightest noise. Link looked around to make sure there were no traps and climbed over the gates. Before he dropped from the gates he took one more sweep for traps. Once he saw once again nothing, he dropped his feet on the dead grass. Link moved quickly, but he was careless. A guard had spotted him, and he started attacking. The noise no doubt had reached the castle as the guard let out a high-pitched squeal as the blade pierced his abdomen. More guards flooded out of the dark castle, Link tried to fight them off... to no avail. He was captured with no way out, he looked one last time to the sky as he was dragged into the dwells of the castle.

Dark Link was called to Ganondorf's chambers.

"Dark," he smirked," We finally caught Link."

"W-we did?'" he asked nervously in front of his master.

Ganon raised an eyebrow,"Is that an issue?" he asked suspiciously.

Dark muddled with the thoughts in his head. He wanted Zelda to stay... And if Link, the actual Link came here, he could destroy everything. All of those words, and thoughts they had shared... Seeing her smile, and getting that soft spark of hope to gleam within her eyes... He wanted it to stay. All of it. While thinking all of this, he made sure not to miss a beat with his wrathful master, replying meekly," Of course not, sir, that's wonderful news for us. What are we going to do with him?"

His master looked at him as if he was the most idiotic thing in all of creation,"I don't know, what the hell else do we do with things that GET IN OUR WAY?"

Dark jumped a bit at the last part, suddenly stumbling over his words,"U-Uh we, uh, we kill them!" He exclaimed, then mumbled again to himself, "We kill them..." He felt like an idiot after acting so awkwardly. Actually, he never acted this awkward.

Gannon raised an eyebrow. He was worried that Dark had begun to change because of the princess. "Good, so you understand. I want you to kill Link." His eyes gazed harshly at the shadow," Try not to mess it up this time." He snarled.

Dark nodded and headed down to the dungeons. He got to the cell that Link was being held in, only to find that he had gotten away, and a guard that lay unconscious on the ground. He flew up the stairs and busted into Ganondorf's chambers. "Sir, he was gone before I got to him, he must be somewhere in the castle."

"DAMMIT," Ganondorf roared,"TELL THE GUARDS TO PUT THE ENTIRE CASTLE ON LOCK DOWN, RIGHT NOW! THIS RUNT DIES TODAY."

The shadow did as his master told, then began scouting the hallways, then stopped. There's only one reason why Link is here, and that's Zelda.

Meanwhile, Link had managed to get away from the guard easily, and was headed straight toward where he imagined Zelda's holding place would be, because she wasn't in the dungeon. He killed any guards that got in his way, over the course of his journey he had become a little less forgiving than the boy that had left. He was determined to get his Zelda back, no matter the cost. Link kicked open several doors until he had managed to find the one that contained the princess. She turned around, her bright blue eyes wide with excitement. She smiled and threw her arms around Link,

"You came! After all this time, you finally came!" She delighted.

"Don't get happy so soon, we still have to get out of this place, and if I'm right then Ganondorf has the castle on high alert." Link stated in a serious and low tone. He went to step out, then drew his foot back, and held and arm out in front of Zelda in order to protect her.

The room seemed to grow darker, a black-haired, red eyed shadow stepped out, with a sword drawn. "Don't touch her." He said in a menacing tone. "I want her to stay."

"Dark..." Zelda whispered.

Link looked a bit confused. "You know him?" He asked her.

The princess looked down and though about all the words and meals that she had shared with dark link, but she knew in her heart that she loved Link. Not his shadow self. There was only one true Link, she knew that. It didn't stop her from feeling conflicting emotions toward his doppelganger, though. "He was created to destroy you, and he's been eating my meals with me and giving me company." There was a ping of pain at her core when she knew what would have to happen. Link had to kill his shadow self, and then defeat Ganondorf, and there was no other way of looking at it.

The Shadow readied himself, his sword held out in front of him. He knew it was selfish, but he wanted Zelda for himself. She had actually cared for him, when no one else had. When Ganondorf dismissed his pain and then caused him more. No. No more. He was going to try and kill the light side to himself at all costs.

Link also got in a position to battle. He knew this would not be an easy task, as his shadow self was created to mimic his movements and battle style. But he would lay his life down for Hyrule, and the love of his life, the beautiful Princess Zelda. He though of her sweet, elegant smile. Her beautiful blue eyes. The way that her soft lips felt against his own.  All of the fighting, battles, travel, all of it was for this moment. The fight before the final boss, Ganondorf.
