Kaylie Princeton

As my alarm clock started blasting music, I woke up. Another day of school. Approximately 2 days till Kaiden comes to visit. Today is Friday and we have a long weekend until Tuesday, thank God.

Looking at my priorities for the day, I realized that I should probably apply for the job at Santa Monica's Training Gym.

Throwing on a pair of black Nike pro's and a grey sweatshirt, I threw my hair into a bun and grabbed my car keys. Since my Aunt clearly forgot to go shopping, I'll have to get breakfast at the coffee shop on the pier.

"God how does someone wake up at 8am on a Friday for a job?" I groaned as I walked towards my white car. "This is awful."

Playing music from my phone, I took in my surroundings. The streets were lined with palm trees, the sun was shining and it was 75 degrees at 8:30 in the morning. Life in California is absolutely perfect.

I pulled up to the parking lot near the pier and got out. I smiled to myself, while I put my phone and keys inside my purse.

"Hello, welcome to Jeans Coffee Beans, what can I get for you today?" The petite girl from behind the counter smiled at me. Her name tag read 'Lucy'.

"Hm, can I have a medium iced caramel latte?" I said as I read off the menu.

Lucy smiled at me as she took down my order. "Sure, your total today comes to $5.39."

I handed her my credit card and she began running it through the cash register.

"Are you new here?" I heard her ask politely.

Nodding, I smiled at her. "Ah yeah, I moved here like a week ago. I'm Kaylie."

Lucy handed me my coffee. "I'm Lucy, I wrote my number on your cup incase you were interested in making more friends." She laughed, shaking her head. "It was nice to meet you, Kaylie. I hope you like Santa Monica."

I honestly didn't expect to make a friend today either, which was nice. "I love it here already, and I will definitely take you up on that friend offer." I waved at her as I grabbed my coffee and left the shop.

Onto my next stop; the gym.

I pulled up to the gym and parked quickly. I had finished my coffee but decided to text Lucy.

'Thanks again for coffee! This is Kaylie btw (:' I smiled, before grabbing my purse and car keys and headed inside.

A man around 35 was working the front desk and smiled when he saw me. "Well, hello. How can I help you today?"

I smiled politely at him. "Hey, I'm here to apply for a job."

"Ah okay. Just fill out the paper work and you'll be all set."

I nodded. Am I going to need an interview? It would be weird if I didn't.

Once I was finished, I handed him the paper and smiled. "Alright, Kaylie, you got the job. You start Sunday at 11am. My name is Mike and call me if you have any questions."

My mouth was open slightly. This was so different than New York, it's so easy to get a job here.

"Okay, see you Sunday, Mike." I smiled as I turned towards the door. My smile slightly faltered as I saw who walked in.

"Hey, love." He smirked as he stopped to talk to me.

I shook my head. "What are you doing here?" I questioned.

"I train here. I could ask you the same thing, newbie."

"I work here now." I crossed my arms over my chest as I looked at him.

He chuckled. "Well it seems like you'll be seeing a lot more of me then."

And that was when I realized that I would be seeing Dylan train at the gym, everyday.
