Hello all! Also thank you so so so much for 3k reads! It means the world to me and I love everyone supporting my journey writing this book! Sorry I did not update this week, I went out of town and had no cell service or wifi. Hope you all understand & enjoy Chapter 6 (:
Kaiden is pictured above! whatta hottie lol.
Kaylie Princeton
My life just sucks right now. I don't understand why God suddenly hates me and has decided to bless me with Dylan working out at the gym that I just got my new job at. Just freaking amazing.
How am I supposed to focus at work? I really need this job, since I'd rather not be a broke bitch.
"Ugh!" I stormed into the front door, slamming it on my way in. "This is a freaking joke!"
I threw my keys down on the table and ran my fingers through my blonde hair in frustration. Of course someone hates me in this world and just forces me to work there, while he trains!
"What's a 'freaking joke'?" I heard a masculine voice chuckle as he stepped out of the shadows.
"Kaiden!" I grinned, running towards him. "You came early, you weren't supposed to be here until Sunday."
He rolled his eyes at me. "Can I not come early to see my best friend? God you're so ungrateful sometimes." Kaiden teased, poking my cheek.
I swatted his hands away. "Shut up, you know I'm happy you came."
His deep laugh made me smile. God how I missed him. "You've been doing better, Kaylie?" He questioned.
I haven't talked about my dad with him ever since I told him I was moving. I opened and closed my mouth, unsure of what to say. Groaning, I shrugged.
"I mean, yes I am doing a lot better without him. It's just so hard to forget all the things he's done to me over the years and I don't think I'll ever be able to." I shrugged.
Kaiden frowned, twirling a blonde lock of hair around his finger. "I know, Kay. I've just been worried about you. I can't lose you."
I smiled up at him, before wrapping my arms around his torso. "I know and I love you for worrying about me. But I'm fine."
"I believe in you, kid. But anyways," His lips twitched up into a small smirk. "What pissed you off today?"
Suddenly I remembered why I came home in such a bad mood. Dylan freaking Whitestone.
"Ugh! It's not even my first full week here and this guy already hits on me. Not to mention I just got a job at the gym where he trains!" I pouted as I looked up at Kaiden.
His laughter filled the house. "Shouldn't you feel flattered that a guy is hitting on you?" Kaiden's perfectly sculpted eyebrow was raised slightly.
"Okay yes but," I groaned. "Shut up!"
He smiled at me, before walking into the kitchen. "So, are we gonna go out to eat or just make something?"
I pondered for a minute. "We're definitely going out to eat, my Aunt barely goes shopping for food."
He nodded, before grabbing his suitcase. "Okay well I'll take you somewhere fancy. Dress nice." Kaiden flashed me his dimples as he smiled.
Is this like a date? No, it can't be. We've always just been best friends. We never have gone to a fancy restaurant, only a casual restaurant.
