He kissed me. And it wasn't just a peck either, it was a full on kiss. Like the ones in all the cheesy romance movies. Just like how Blair and Chuck kiss in Gossip Girl. Or how Scott and Allison kiss from Teen Wolf. It was the kiss. The kiss that determines if you really like someone. You can tell by the way someone kisses, if you really could see a future with them. I know that this is just high school, and all love is stupid.

And here I was, kissing Dylan Whitestone. The boy with the mesmerizing eyes and the intriguing secrets that seem to pull me in.

Who is Dylan? And what is he hiding?

Grabbing my keys off the counter, I noticed a small yellow sticky note stuck to the table.

'Meet me @ the cafe by the pier at 6:45. -Dylan'

Holy shit. Is Dylan asking me on a date?

What am I supposed to do about Kaiden? I thought I had control over everything, my feelings, his feelings. Turns out, I didn't. My best friend is in love with me. I can't hurt him, he knows everything about me. Everything that I've been through. I love this, but I hate it. I love that he was honest with me, it took a lot of courage to tell me that he was in love with me. And what did I do? I turned him down.

I turned on my phone to check the time. 5pm.

So that meant I have an hour and a half to get ready, plus 15 minutes of driving time total.

"Stupid, stupid, stupid." I muttered as I walked towards my white car. I shook my head as I climbed inside. Is it even possible for a girl to feel this conflicted over two guys?

I turned on the radio and listened to my music as I drove him, just thinking. Thinking about life, my past and all the decisions I've had to make.

Everything in life happens for a reason, but what happened in mine that lead to this?

Pulling up to Aunt and Uncles house, or my house I should say, I noticed that Kaiden wasn't home yet.

Thank god.

I wouldn't have been able to face him and tell him where I'm going. It would crush him, and I've hurt him enough as it is.

I walked into the house and threw my keys down on the island in the kitchen. I grabbed a bag of chips from the cabinet and began to eat them as I walked up the stairs. A girls gotta eat, you know?

I sifted through my clothes in my closet and my eyes settled on a pair of black ripped jeans and a white crop top. Making sure I checked the weather, which said it was going to be 75°, I figured this outfit would be cute.

I threw on my clothes, re-straightened my hair and touched up my makeup. I checked the time on my phone once more. 6:30pm, it read.

I grabbed a pair of white converse to match my outfit and threw them on as well, as I looked in the mirror.

I didn't look terrible, especially since I just got off work an hour ago.

Kaiden still wasn't home. Honestly, I'm not even sure where he went, to be honest.

As I walked down the stairs, I grabbed my keys off the counter and grabbed a piece of paper as well.

Went out. Don't wait up for me, I'll be back late. Love you, Kaids. -Kaylie

I walked out of the house and towards my car with a big smile on my face. A date with Dylan?! Who would have guessed this would happen to me.

Still smiling as I drove towards the pier, I checked out my surroundings. The ocean, the signs, the nice big houses, everything about California was perfect.

I pulled into the piers parking lot and got out of the car. I looked around and bit my lip softly as I wondered how I was supposed to find Dylan in all this chaos.

Well, that was until I saw him standing by the edge of the pier and looking out into the ocean. I smiled as I made my way towards him.

Stopping a few feet away from him, I tapped his broad shoulder. "Hey, Dylan."

He turned towards me, his piercing green eyes met mine, before moving towards my body and taking in my attire.

"You look gorgeous, Kaylie." He flashed me a small, lopsided grin. "I'm really happy you came and met me here tonight."

Tucking a piece of blonde hair behind my ear, I couldn't help but find myself smiling back at him. "Well, I'm really happy I came. At least now I can see you in some real clothes, besides your workout ones!"

Dylan raised his perfectly sculpted eyebrow at me. "Don't deny that you like me in those clothes, love." He chuckled, shaking his head.

I blushed. He really had a way of words.

"Here come on, lets go get something to eat. You must be hungry after such a long shift at the gym." He grabbed my hand gently, tugging me towards him.

I complied and followed after him as we began walking around the pier, looking at different shops, restaurants and games.

"Is it going to be fancy or a laid back style restaurant?" I asked curiously, hoping he would say casual, since I didn't want him to spend so much on dinner.

"A casual place. I know one that has nice food. I'm sure you'll love it." He smiled down at me as we stopped in front of the restaurant. "Here it is."

The restaurant was called Madame Louisa's, a casual Italian place.

I checked out the menu outside the restaurant as I smiled. It sounded perfect.

"Okay, this place sounds good." I looked back at Dylan, who still had his eyes on me.

I turned towards the windows and my eyes widened.

There, sitting at the table with a brunette, was Kaiden.
