As I get closer It dawns on me that the store title is no longer Debras Store Goods but is now Debras Pie Goods. I take a look around making sure I'm at the right store.

"Morris! Baby! Come in!" I hear Debra shout from inside.

I hesitant thinking mabye I'm better off wandering around until it gets dark or until Dad comes looking for me. I only wish I had a phone now.

I expect to be hit by the murky smell of cigarettes. Surprisingly, I'm not. I don't even need to sniff to know the familiar smell that's everywhere. Pie.

"What the-" The entire store is completely redecorated. Creamy white and yellow tiles adore the floor. Vanilla wallpaper replaces the once peeling wall. Pink tables sit in the place of once food shevles. Each have boxes of pies stacked in a pyramid.

Debra stands behind the cash register kneading dough on a cutting broad. A smile on her face as she sees my bewildered expression.

"I knew you'd love it!" She gushes.

This isn't the same woman I met before. Her hair is curled. Waves of black cascading down her head like oil. Her eyes are a light grey. Skin, nicely tanned. Face free of wrinkles.  It's like she completely ....changed overnight.

That's what she said before. When we first got here. Now she's like the rest of them.

"What happened to you?" I ask. Her cheeks turn red and she grins slyly continuing to knead the dough.

"Look, I know I acted out of place before and I apologize"

"What are you talking about!" I grab my spinning head trying to make sense of this.

"All that nonsense about Dortha being a witch and not opening a pie shop" She sighs kneading the dough harder
"But that was before I understood Dortha was right! She's always right"

"Your crazy! This whole town is crazy!" I whisper backing out the store.

"Oh! Morris! Before you go!" She wipes her powdered white hands on her apron.

"I don't want whatever your-" A pair of hands seize my shoulder.
