“I-I can’t come over now. I’m sorry Hakyeon, I’m busy.” I choked out. Hoseok’s eye narrowed on me as I spoke.
“Oh… Are you with someone right now?”
“I’m uhh… I’m with Hoseok right now.” I pushed the words out. I had to make a decision, I had to hurt one of them and make the other happy. There was no way I could make both of them happy. Hoseok perked up at my response to Hakyeon, cracking a small smile.
“Have you made your decision then?” He asked, his voice now taking on a melancholy tone.
“We can talk later, okay? I think we need to talk. I’ll let you know when I’m free. Bye!” I quickly hung up the phone, not waiting for his response. I knew whatever he said would only make me feel sad and I really didn’t want to feel sad after having Hoseok almost kiss me.
I turned my attention back to Hoseok. “I’m so sorry about that… Of course that would happen right when… ugh.”
Hoseok’s small smile grew into a wicked grin almost instantly. He leaned in towards me, causing my stomach to flutter yet again at his closeness. “Right when what? Right when I was about to kiss you?”
I felt my cheeks instantly heat up. I shut my mouth tightly, not wanting to mess anything up by speaking. I just stared back him, waiting for him to continue. He snickered at my rosey cheeks and shook his head. “Don't worry, I wasn't going to kiss you. I just got caught up in the moment a little bit.”
I backed up to move away from him. Caught up in the moment? You weren't going to kiss me? Why are you so confusing?
*Beep*
Awkward moment interrupted. Thank you… Yun Hee?
Yun Hee: I know I should be a big girl and tell the potential fathers myself and in private but I can't. I already feel shitty.. I want my friends there. I just want to rip the band-aid off and tell everyone at once.
Su Jin: uhh are you sure that's a good idea?
Yun Hee: I don't care!! Lets all meet tomorrow for dinner.
Su Jin: Dinner? You can't eat much though.
Yun Hee: 😤😤 SU JIN. JUST BE THERE AND MAKE SURE EVERYONE ELSE IS THERE TOO.
I sighed loudly and sat back on Hobi’s couch. “What a mess.”
Hoseok raised an eyebrow at me, looking towards my phone. I handed it to him, letting him read Yun Hees messages. He chuckled a little before handing it back. “Well this should be interesting. Poor Taehyung though. He's probably going to be a wreck.” I was relieved that the conversation had been re-directed elsewhere but now I was stressed about this potential disaster of a dinner.
I made a few calls and so did Hoseok, letting our friends know the time and place we were all supposed to meet the next day. He invited me to stay over for a movie, so I accepted. Even though I felt weird about almost kissing him and him making excuses for it, I still wanted to spend time with him. He seemed a little shocked that I chose to stay, eyeing me suspiciously but settling on a movie. He popped it in and we sat on opposite ends of his couch, letting the film distract us from our mixed feelings.
I stayed for the movie and made my way home afterwards. We both needed the rest of the evening to prepare ourselves for the day ahead of us and all the drama that was sure to erupt. Unfortunately I had my own love life falling to shambles. Maybe Yun Hee and I need a spa weekend, get away from all these boys for a couple days.
