*Years later*

“Mommy!” Hyun Ki ran up to me, immediately hiding behind my legs and grasping on to me for dear life. I snickered a little as I looked down at him.

“What is it, Hyun Ki?”

“Yoo Na won’t stop chasing me! She’s scary.” He whined, pushing out him bottom lip to pout.

“Why is my son scared? Yoo Na isn’t scary, she’s your friend.” Hoseok spoke up from beside me as he kneeled down to pat our son on the head. He gave the boy a reassuring smile while he waited for his answer.

“She says she wants to kiss me…” He mumbled, burying his little head into me.

“Just like her mother.” I chuckled. Yoo Na was Yun Hee and Taehyung's daughter, she was the same age as Hyun Ki, both were already 6. Yun Hee and I had been pregnant at the same time, both miserable together. Taehyung and Hoseok were panicked the whole nine months. They would constantly fawn over us, making sure we didn’t strain ourselves and that we were eating well. There were many nights that Hoseok ran out at 2am because I had a wild craving and he wanted me to feel satisfied. Yun Hee and I were always amused by how cute and caring our husbands were. The first time Hoseok held Hyun Ki, he looked at our baby like he had just met the most important person in existence. When he held our daughter Hye Su for the first time, he seemed much more nervous.

I was there when Yun Hee had her baby, I had already had Hyun Ki a few weeks prior. Yun Hee was a crying mess when she got to hold her daughter, happy to have not lost another child. When Taehyung held his daughter, he cried so much that It almost made Hoseok and I cry. He was the happiest dad in the world in that moment. Now of course, Yoo Na has him completely wrapped around her finger.

“Yun Seok! Ji Ho! Get back here!” Yoo Na yelled as she chased two other boys around Hyo Rin’s yard. Yun Seok was Yoongi’s son, he was five. Ji Ho was Hyo Rin and Jin’s son, he was 7. Min Jung, Namjoons 5 year old daughter was following behind Yoo Na, giggling as she helped her friend chase the boys down. Hye Su struggled to keep up behind them, her legs not able to take her quite as fast as the older girls.

“Yoo Na! Stop chasing those boys!” Taehyung whined, ruffling his hair as spoke. Yun Hee laughed and kissed his cheek. Taehyung was always stressed out by how boy crazy his daughter was. Yoo Na had been chasing the other boys around for two years already but Taehyung still hadn’t come to terms with the fact his little girl was exactly like her mother.

Yoongi smirked at his friend and pat him on the back. “We may be in laws one day.”

“She’s going to give me a heart attack.” Taehyung huffed.

“KOOKIE!” Yoo Na suddenly screeched, barreling for the young man who had just moved through the house, entering the back yard.

Jungkook scooped Yoo Na up into his arms and gave her a crushing hug. “My little princess! How are you?”

Yoo Na giggled as she snuggled into the chest of her favorite person. “None of those boys will kiss me! It’s not very nice of them.”

Jungkook let out a dramatic gasp and shook his head at the little girl. “You’re trying to kiss them!? You shouldn’t chase after those boys.” He crinkled his nose, causing her to laugh and poke his cheek.

“They’re cute! You know I can’t marry you, you’re too old Kookie.”

Jungkook pushed out his lip, giving her a fake pout. “I’m so sad now, Yoo Na!” He tickled her a bit before setting her back down. She resumed her chase of the boys, who were panicking as she gained more speed than before.

Yoo Na and Jungkook had been close since she was a toddler. Taehyung and Jungkook had been really close and he quickly got attached to the little girl. Yoo Na always told everybody she wanted to marry her ‘kookie’ but he told her he was too old for her, much to her disappointment.

“Yoo Na! Stop it!” Min Ki ran up to Yoo Na, grabbing her hand and trying to pull her away from the other children. Min Ki was the son of Jimin, he was also six years old, he just had his birthday. Jimin was depressed after Yun Hee and Taehyung got married, he ended up sleeping around and getting a girl pregnant. The girl took off, leaving Jimin alone with his infant son.

Oddly enough, Taehyung was a great friend to him and even offered to let Jimin stay with them till he could get a handle on being a single dad. Yun Hee and Jimin rekindled their friendship, once again becoming close friends. Jimin’s son saw Yoo Na more than any of the other children and he already had a little crush on her. Hoseok and I joked that history sure had a funny way of repeating itself. Everyone’s kid’s seemed so much like them, it was like watching ourselves in child form.

“Min Ki! Why are you doing that?” Yoo Na protested as she was being dragged away.

“You can only kiss me! But not till we grow up.” Min Ki lectured the little girl who whined and stomped her feet.

After a bit, Hyo Rin called everyone to the table for lunch. The kids were all set at one end, eating and laughing together, while the adults sat at the opposite end. Hyo Rin and Jin had asked everyone to come over for an announcement. Of course we all already suspected what it was, Hyo Rin had been consistently running inside the house during the gathering so it was easy to guess she was probably pregnant.

Proving our thoughts right, the couple announced while we were eating that they were expecting again. The pregnancy was a surprise, not planned like Ji Ho. Taehyung teased Yun Hee, asking her to give him more children. We congratulated the happy couple and Ji Ho for becoming an older brother. Ji Ho seemed completely uninterested, he ignored everyone and just continued to eat his food.

Hyun Ki tried to reassure him that being a brother wasn’t that bad. Hyun Ki enjoyed being an older brother… most days. He liked to play pretend with his little sister and show her new things. However when she interrupted his favorite show, he wasn’t too happy to have her around. For the most part though, he got along well with his little sister. He even tried to protect her from the occasional spider that got inside and scared her. Hyun Ki was great at cheering Hye Su up, great at cheering everyone up. He was so much like his father it warmed my heart.

“I wonder if they’re all going to stay close like we have.” Hoseok thought aloud as he watched the children chasing each other yet again.

“I hope they do. My life would be so boring without everyone here.” I chuckled a little as I watched Hyun Ki try to convince his sister to stop chasing the boys with the older girls.

“It would be terrible without me!” Hoseok grinned and put an arm around my shoulders, leaning in to kiss my cheek.

I wrapped my arms around him, snuggling into the man i’ve loved for so long. “You’re right, it would be terrible. I’m happy to be here with you, with everyone. I never expected all of us to stay so close through the years, but here we are.”

“I heard that and I’m deeply offended!” Yun Hee shouted.

“Yeah, how could you doubt this friendship?” Taehyung chimed in. Yun Hee has made him a troublemaker. I swear. “YOO NA! Stop hugging Min Ki! Yoo- LET GO!”

“Moooooooommyy!!” Hyun Ki took off running towards me again. “She’s scary!” I picked up my son and he snuggled into me, hugging me as tight as he could. Hoseok speaking softly to him once again, letting him know everything was alright.

I wouldn’t trade this for anything in the world.
