Yun Hee held two tiny baby outfits in her hands, staring back and forth between both of them. “I just wanna know if I'm having a boy or a girl already!” She huffed and hung the clothes back on the rack, stomping her feet in frustration.
Hyo Rin and I chuckled at her irritation. She had become so much more impatient, excited to know what the sex of her baby was so she could shop accordingly. “You're getting the sonogram tomorrow. It won’t kill you to wait one more day.” Hyo Rin teased.
“It might kill Hoseok though. He is super excited to be an ‘uncle’ he says.” I rolled my eyes and laughed. Hoseok and Taehyung were both like kids, excitement causing them to jump around with joy at the prospect of a baby.
“How are things with you and Hoseok? It’s been awhile since you confronted him right?” Hyo Rin asked as she scooted clothes around on the rack.
“Yes tell us everything! Distract me from my misery with your drama!” Yun Hee called out from halfway across the store. Hyo Rin shushed her and waved her over to listen to what I had to say, making sure we wouldn’t get kicked out for any more shouting.
“Well everything’s been alright I guess. We still hangout and talk a lot. I just can’t seem to break through his walls. One day he acts like my boyfriend and the next he is friendly but distant. It makes no sense.” I sighed, shaking my head as I reached for a cute stuffed lamb. I showed it to Yun Hee who grinned and snatched it from my hands.
“He is just scared. I’m sure he’ll come around eventually. Just give it time.” Hyo Rin spoke reassuringly. She pat me on the back a few times before pregnancy and baby books caught her eye, causing her to run off.
“Don’t worry, that goofball loves you.” Yun Hee chimed in. All of a sudden she grabbed her stomach and winced.
“Woah, hey are you okay?” I grabbed her arm to help steady her as she looked pale.
She rubbed her stomach and took a few deep breaths before standing straight once again and sending me a smile. “I guess baby doesn’t like what I had for breakfast. Maybe we should go sit down for awhile?”
Hyo Rin popped up behind Yun Hee, a stern look on her face as she spoke. "You're not having any trouble are you? You’re only 17 weeks… right? If you have any problems you need to go to the hospital.”
“I’m fine! Let’s just go sit for awhile.”
We followed Yun Hee’s request and took some time to go sit and have a snack. She seemed to perk back up and feel better after resting for awhile and was immediately ready to get back to our day of shopping. She dragged us from store to store before it got dark and we all had grumbling stomachs yet again. I offered to treat everyone to dinner and we caught up on each others lives a bit more.
When we asked Yun Hee if she was still not really talking to any of the boys, she just ignored us and went on babbling about cake and how often she has to pee. As far as we knew, she had barely spoken to any of her potential fathers. She was trying to concentrate on a healthy pregnancy instead of who she might love. However it wasn’t working out well for her, she was stressed with not knowing whose child she was carrying and who she wanted to be with. We were stressed for her.
“Come on Yun Hee, we’re worried about you. Just tell us how you’re feeling.” I tried to push her for information as she stuffed her mouth full of food.
“Looks like the morning sickness is over.” Hyo Rin laughed and handed Yun Hee a a drink.
“Guys I really don’t want to talk about it! I don’t even know how i’m feeling.” She glared at me.
