Seven - Panda Eyes

Now that Iris had gone over the punishment, it was time she got back to finding the real Hippo. But this time, with more caution. The sooner she fought him, the sooner she'll get to her goal. Plus, the coach had already notified her of her growing absences in their team practices.

When lunch came, she and Ellie were enjoying the perfect weather on the rooftop when the door suddenly banged open.

"I'm here, stupid girl! I'm Hippo!"

Well, that took off a lot on her shoulders. He had saved her the trouble of finding him. But still, she couldn't help but feel a flash of irritation that her first lunch with someone had to be interrupted.

Iris stood up and gave Ellie a reassuring nod before walking toward where the big guy stood. He had three companions with him. He whirled around when she called him and a smirk came on his face.

"After hearing that you got punished for looking for me, I figured I'll give you some slack and look for you myself," He said.

"I appreciate that," Iris said sincerely. Behind her, Ellie stood looking worried. She observed him. His codename fit him perfectly. He was easily thrice her size, but it was more fat than muscles. His shirt was unbuttoned and his pants fit snugly against him. She also saw a lot of grease stains on his shirt which somehow just fitted him.

"I-Iris, are you s-sure about this?" Ellie asked.

She looked at her, "Yes. We'll resume our lunch later, just give me a few minutes."

Their conversation was just getting to the good part--doggie heaven.

"Che, not only stupid, but conceited as well," Hippo clicked his tongue impatiently. "Come on then girlie, because you wanted to I'll easily get this over with."

"That's right, man! Show her!"

"Teach the bitch a lesson!"

Iris went into her fighting stance. Shoulders relaxed, feet apart, fists held up. She was still sore, but she'll just have to make it work.

"Rooftop! Get to the rooftop! Hippo's fighting the stupid girl!" A random guy shouted at the whole cafeteria.

Ares snapped his head up from his ramen and immediately rushed to the destination. He had to see this fight. He had to. Getting replaced by her as Pierre's champion had been a blow to his ego. He'll have to see it with his own eyes that the damn blondie made a huge mistake! The rich brat will come groveling at his feet in no time, begging him to be his champion once again!

"Move it!" Ares snapped as he pushed his way through the other students.

He was so close. He could just make out the stupid girl's brown hair and Hippo's fat face. Just as he burst through the door of the rooftop, the crowd of students surrounding the fight suddenly burst into huge cheers.

Then the crowd parted and Iris herself came out of it. She walked toward a small girl with glasses and both walked toward their spot. The thing was Iris had looked completely in one piece with not even a single drop of blood on her, leaving Ares in utter confusion.

Were they by any chance playing a harmless game of chess? Ares thought and dismissed it quickly. Hippo had a pea-sized brain, after all, and the stupid girl was stupid.
