"I-Iris, don't look so glum..."

Iris straightened up and glanced at Ellie to see the girl looking at her with worry. She felt something pull at her heartstrings. It was truly heart-warming to have someone worrying for her sake.

They walked out of their last class together side by side. It had been a week since the incident of the morning run had happened. Pierre's final order was for Iris to keep out of fighting other people until her wound fully healed. This troubled her greatly, for the days were fast approaching and her goal was to fight her way up to 5th just to enter the February tournament. If this kept up over such a shallow cut, she'll run out of time!

"Bye-bye, see you, Iris!" Ellie waved goodbye, a smile on her timid face. "Until then, don't look so down. We're gonna have lots of fun tomorrow!"

At least there was one good thing that was keeping Iris' spirit up for the mean time. Tomorrow was Saturday, and she and Ellie made plans to go to town together.

She was so excited at the prospect of experiencing something new that she was humming to herself on her way to her dorm.

"Someone's in a good mood."

Iris looked up to see Locke walking by her side. For a second, she was filled with shame. She was too caught in her own emotions that she completely tuned out her surroundings.

"Hi, Locke."

He raised an eyebrow, "Come, come! Share it with me, cupcake."

She bit her lip out of excitement and her usually quiet tone rose just a notch, "I'm going to town tomorrow with a friend."

His blue eyes began to gleam with interest, "Oh, this is interesting." He closed his distance with her and slung an arm around her shoulder, his voice dropping to a low whisper in her ear, "And who is this lucky friend?"

She deftly twisted out of his arm and said, "Ellie, of course."

Locke briefly pouted at the loss of contact. "Glasses Girl?"

"Her name's Ellie."

"Why her?" The redhead stepped closer to Iris once more. "Why not me instead?"

"We can go next week. Tomorrow's for Ellie," Her gaze turned sharp as her eyes flicked to him. "Only for Ellie."

Iris sat waiting at their meeting place, a cozy coffee shop that stood at the edge of the town. It was a popular place to study and hang out among students. From here on out, she and Ellie would go around town and show each other the places they've been going to since freshmen year. It was a way of getting to know each other by sharing distant memories.

She glanced at the time in her phone. She was a tad too early, but she couldn't help it. She was already up by 5 in the morning and had to pass the time by doing a run and even her homeworks.

Her eyes scanned the inside of the coffee shop in the hopes that Ellie was actually waiting for her as well, but instead her eyes caught a certain redhead.

Locke was sat a few tables away from her, surrounded by three girls. Iris noted that out of all the boys, he was the friendliest and always seemed to be surrounded by the opposite sex.
