I was sitting in my living room binge-watching Gossip Girl when the doorbell rang.
I opened the door but no one was there, I looked down and saw a big white box with a ribbon tied to it, lying on the doorstep.
I brought the box into the house and placed it on the kitchen counter. I untied the ribbon and lifted the lid off the box.
I gasped and smiled at the box. A beautiful deep red dress was lying within it. A few pieces of jewellery lay upon the dress, and a pair of matching heels were tucked into the corner of the box. I noticed a note that was attached under the lid. I pulled it out and unfolded the piece of paper.
'My condolences. Thought I'd treat you. Enjoy the dress. I know Ali would approve. You can't trust anyone these days. Not even your date. See you at Homecoming. Kisses - A.'
My smile quickly dropped as I read the note from A. I sighed. Homecoming was this Friday night.
I wasn't planning on going, considering how the last dance turned out. But A was going to be there and clearly A wants me there. But I'm more angry than I am scared now. And I was ready to face whatever A had planned for me.
I took the dress and hung it up in my closet along with the shoes and jewellery. This was going to be another night to remember.

The next day at school, Noah came up to me at my locker. He was holding a few roses in his hand, and was grinning from ear to ear. I turned to face him and I kissed him on the cheek.
"Roses? What's the occasion?"
"Homecoming! Wanna be my date?" He asked me, still grinning.
I thought about the note from A quickly. A told me I couldn't trust my date. Why does A think I can't trust Noah?!
"Yeah, of course. I'd love to." I said, accepting the roses.

It was the night of homecoming and I stood in the mirror, watching my strapless dress stick to my waist and then flow outwards. It had a silver diamond thick belt wrapped around the waist tightly. The dress finished just above my knees. I slipped on my red matching heels and put my hair up into a half bun, while curling the rest of my hair.
My mum walked into my closet and grabbed my hand squeezing it, staring along with me at my reflection. "You look beautiful, sweetie. Your dad would be so proud." She said, her voice choking a little. A single tear falling from her eye.
