Chapter 23 - Out of sight out of mind

"It's immortality my darlings."

Alison was always full of lies and secrets. But the girl loved mysteries so much she became one.

I remember she once told me that she would love to die young in a mysterious way, of course not knowing that her fate would be exactly that.

But there are things such as coincidences. In Rosewood however there is no such thing. Just secrets waiting to be found, lies waiting to be uncovered, and murders yet to be solved.

I don't believe in immortality. I believe in destiny.

It's homecoming tomorrow. I have a gut feeling that this dance will change everything.

And I don't think I'm ready for that.

I bought my homecoming dress a couple weeks back so today I'm taking some 'me time'. I need to get my head together before homecoming.

I go for a morning run around town before going to Becky's for a chat.

She sent me a very mysterious text last night.

'My house. Tomorrow at 11. I have something I need to tell you.'

Very mysterious indeed...

After I step out the shower and have finished getting ready for the day, I drive over to Becky's and make my way into her back yard where she says she is sunbathing.

"So what's up?" I ask her as I sit down on the sun lounger next to her's.

She sits up and sighs, taking her sunglasses off and looks at me.

"You know that I would never lie to you right?" She says with a nervous look on her face.

"Yeah of course bex! But what's this about?"

She sighs again. "Isaac didn't kill Ali."

"What do you mean?" I say shaking my head at my best friend. "Who do you think killed Ali then?"

"Jason."

"No! Your crazy bex, Jason would never kill his own sister! Why on earth would you think that?" I ask her, chuckling slightly at the ridiculous idea of her crazy theory.

"Because he told me he did."

The seconds turn into hours and my heart feels like it's stopped beating, frozen in time.

And my heart breaks all over again...
