"Where is he? I thought he was coming?!" Ella shouts, tears streaming down her face.

"I don't know okay, he said he would be here." I shout back, my throat choking on the dirt.

"I'm going to find him!" Becky says, dropping her shovel.

"No! Don't! Just stay here. It's too dangerous." Melody tells Becky, pleading.

"We've got to do something. I mean, how can we bury..." Becky says, crying and looking down at the ground. She couldn't finish her sentence. She was speechless.

7 hours earlier

"I've figured out what A wants us to do! She wants us to retrace Ali's footsteps from that night." I explain to my friends. We had just read the text and it was another riddle from A. I was good at riddles.

"Does she think that we'll find out who killed Ali? And why is A helping us now anyway?" Melody said, throwing her phone onto the counter in frustration.

"We've got to at least try and find out what happened to Ali. It's like Ella said, it should be us that finds out. We owe it to her." I explained to Melody.

We agreed to meet up in the barn at 8 and then we would figure it out from there somehow.

I let my friends out and went into the dining room for dinner.

"Hey! Had a good day, honey?" My mum said, not looking up from her food.

"Yeah it was good thanks mum." I helped myself to the salad and started to eat my dinner.

"We've got some special news to give you." Mum said, finally looking at me. My uncle smiled.

"What is it?" I asked them.

"Your uncle has been offered a job, here in Rosewood. He will stay here with us while he looks for his own place here. Isn't that great?"

"Yeah it is." I smiled back at him.

"Yeah, the job is actually to teach at Rosewood High." My uncle said.

"Really?"

"Yeah how do you feel about that?" My uncle asked me, his brows furrowed looking nervous.

"I love it."

He smiled, relieved at my response.

When I finished dinner and cleared up the plates, I went up to my room and sorted out my things for tonight. I finished cleaning up my closet and locked it behind me. I also made sure I locked my bedroom door as well. I told Mum that I was going over to Becky's to catch up on some homework and I left the house.

I walked to the barn, not wanting to use my car. I didn't live too far from the barn so I got there in under 15 minutes. And I sat on the sofa waiting for my friends to arrive.

My phone buzzed, showing that I got a text.

'Where does she go when she doesn't want to be found? A.'

I looked up from my phone, thinking about the text. I hear a car pull up. The girls have arrived, I rush out and lock the barn behind me. I see the girls get out the car.

"Guys, A just sent me a text." I tell them.

"What is it?" Becky grabs my phone and the girls read the text.

"I know what A means. It's not the barn. I know where we have to go. We need to get back in the car now." Becky tells us, giving me my phone back.

We get in the car and Becky starts driving.
