Jordan's P.O.V

The hotel was really nice, with good service. Lyra liked it too. The decor was not the greatest, though, but who was I to complain?

Our room was in the penthouse, which both Lyra and I marveled. There were tons of rooms, so many that it was even a bit confusing finding certain places. There were three bathrooms, four bedrooms, a living room, a wash room, a storage room, and even a small sauna!

I kept seeing Lyra out on the deck, which was really big and had flowers everywhere. Lyra would rest her elbows on the ledge and stare at the city, seeming to be lost in thought. Sometimes, I would stand next to her, balancing her on her crutches and looking with her. Otherwise, I'd leave her alone, since she barely ever got privacy like it.

While Lyra was on the deck, I decided to start recording a video. I got on Skype and called Max, Mark, and Adam. They all answered, and I asked, "Want to play Gmod Hide and Seek with me?"

"Sure," they said. I smiled as we opened up Gmod and started playing.

"Hey doods!" I said after I started recording. "I'm in Florida right now for MINECONNNNNNNNN! And the guys and I decided to play Hide and Seek for a bit before we go to Minecon tomorrow. Right?"

"Yep," the guys replied. We started up the game and got ready.

Lyra's P.O.V

I'd just realized something that only peace and quiet can remind me of: my eighteenth birthday was tomorrow!

On each of my birthdays, my "parents" would cheer, "Happy Awakening, Lyra!" When I asked what they meant by "Awakening," they'd reply, "Oh, Lyra, Awakening is a simple meaning for the day you woke up and were cre- I mean born."

I'd nod and bite my lip while walking away. I never knew why she'd always almost say "created," but I could tell it was something she didn't want me to know. Being the girl with many secrets already, I'd accept that.

I watched the stars rise up in the sky on this beautiful night. Reaching up with my hand, I tried to grab one. I'd wanted to catch a star since I was five, when I first discovered the shining lights.

To me, stars were like dreams. They can create amazing things that are impossible to be created now, or just be the beautiful thing that is with you each night.

I went into the penthouse and heard Jordan recording. Quietly, I grabbed popsicle sticks and string out of my suitcase. Then I took out a small wooden star with a hole in the top.

I set the star on my lap as I sat down on the couch, letting my broken leg rest on a cushion. Then I glued the popsicle sticks together into a circle, using hot glue to keep it together. I weaved the string into little areas I found in the circle, making a design full of beauty.

My hands became tools of work. They became the mouse for the computer, the keys for the lock, the pencil for the paper. But this time, they were the most important part of the project. One wrong move with my fingers and the whole creation would be ruined.

The string weaved its way through the design, as if repeating to itself "in and out, in and out." String was overlooked, as if it was nothing when it could mean everything. I felt like string. Being the short person I was, people walked past me like I was invisible and useless. Unless I was up on some stage singing my heart out, I felt like a worthless piece of junk being thrown into a trash can and never being reused. As if my owners had a problem with me and didn't think I had any uses anymore.

I knew something was wrong with me. I could tell ever since Jordan saw me after my second time at the hospital. I'd stared into his eyes and saw fear and confusion, and I knew that he saw something in me that made me different from everyone else- different in a bad way.

Finally, I finished the hard part of my creation. The next part was tying the string to the star. I did that easily and then it was done. But I always had a special extra part of the project, tying it to another string and using it as a necklace. Then I finished.

"My dream catcher is finally finished," I told myself proudly, putting it around my neck.

"Your what?" I heard Jordan ask. He was still in his bedroom, so I took my crutches and went in. Jordan was staring at his computer, making his character crawl into a bush and crouch down.

"My dream catcher," I repeated, slowly sitting neck to him on the bed.

At first, Jordan seemed confused. Then his eyes brightened as he realized what I was talking about. "Oh!" he exclaimed. "I made those in fourth grade!"

I stared at him, utterly confused. Jordan raised his eyebrows, then explained, "Its a school term for fifth year in school, since there is also kindergarten. That's like a beginner's start of school."

I nodded. "Sounds cool."

"Jordan, I'm going to find you!" a familiar voice said over Skype.

"Adam?" I asked. SeaNanners himself, hm?

"Um..." Adam replied.

I laughed, "I'm Jordan's friend, Lyra. Not a stalker."

The group of boys and I laughed. A knock on the door changed our attention.

"I got it!" I said, running to the front door. I opened it, and a very recognizable young girl with blonde hair in pigtails stood there.

"Erica?"

YEAHHHHHHHHHH guess what? I HAVE STATE TESTS NEXT WEEK. OH, JOY! *sarcasm* I'm gonna die...if I don't post next week it's because I'm studying. Sorry :(
