Jordan's P.O.V

"Erica?"

I heard Lyra's confused voice and stopped recording to go out and see who it was. I walked down the short hallway to the front door and stood next to Lyra, staring at the all-too-familiar girl at my doorway.

Erica stuck a finger through her braid, twirling it and biting her lip. "Hi," she said nervously.

Lyra looked just as nervous. I could tell that Lyra wanted Erica to stay with her, but she obviously didn't have the courage. "Hi, Erica..." Lyra replied.

"Er, Erica, is there a reason why you came here?" I asked, breaking the awkward tension.

"Yes," Erica answered, standing a bit taller. "The orphanage wants me to spend more time with you and Lyra. Apparently, they want you to adopt me."

I noticed Lyra's eyes brighten. She looked hopefully at me and I gave her a look that said "maybe". That seemed enough for her, since she smiled.

Lyra's P.O.V

Jordan actually might let me adopt Erica. I liked Erica since the day at the hospital and knew she would have a good home with Jordan and I...wait, did I just say it as if Jordan and I were married? Derp...

I smiled again nervously and looked at Jordan, then Erica. "Well, I'm going to go practice piano if you need me," I said, not even thinking. I walked quickly into the spare room with a piano and a guitar in it, and sat down on the seat.

I started playing one of my favorite songs "For Good" on the piano.

"I've heard it said

that people come into our lives

for a reason.

Bringing something we must learn

and we are lead

to those who help us most to grow

if we let them

and we help them in return."

Suddenly, I heard another voice join in.

"Well I don't know if I believe that's true

but I know I'm who I am today

because I knew you."

Erica. I turned and saw her sitting next to me at the piano, Jordan leaning on the side. Erica was grinning at me. I grinned back.

We went through the rest of the song gracefully, me playing piano better than I ever had before. I hadn't realized how good I was at fingering the keys and singing at the same time. Normally, I'd have a drum beat downloaded off the internet playing while I sang, and then add more music. This, well, this was all of it together. I heard Jordan tapping his foot, Erica's soft voice, and my fingertips gliding wonderfully across the piano keys.

Later, Jordan and I showed Erica how to play Minecraft. Jordan bought her a really good computer and downloaded Technic Launcher so she could use modpacks. I chose a bunch of mods that she would like, like the hats mod and the morph mod.

My personal favorite modpack was the Biomes O Plenty mod. There were tons of different areas to find, and my personal favorite was the Sacred Springs biome. The Springs water regenerated your character's health, and it was by far the most beautiful biome in the modpack.

I also realized that the Sacred Springs was where Jordan's house was in his Ultra Modded Survival series. Of course, before Sparry burned it down and Jordan made half his house into a mine.

I was next to Jordan when he was filming, and luckily he edited out my laughing tantrum on the floor when all this happened.

Before I knew it, I was curled up in Jordan's arms on the couch while Erica was sleeping in a comfy chair. Jordan looked only barely away, and I giggled drowsily at his expression. His lips were turned up in a sleepy grin, while his eyelids dropped down over his brown eyes. He looked exhausted. I must have too, because he laughed back.

And the next thing that happened was so unexpected that neither of us saw it coming.

Our eyes met and we drew closer to each other...

And we kissed.

I felt something that I had never, ever felt before in my entire life. Our lips were locked and eyes were closed, hugging each other and letting the kiss sink deep in. I need to say that I'd never felt better than how I was during that kiss in my life.

Suddenly, Jordan pulled away. Fear took place of happiness in his chocolate brown eyes as he pushed me away. I felt tears brimming on my eyelashes as he tried to apologize. But before he could, I grabbed his wrist and pulled him -with one crutch under my free shoulder- into our bedroom before I would scream, as to not wake Erica. One we got in and I shut the door, I pushed Jordan onto the bed.

"What the heck was that?!" I exclaimed angrily. Refusing to let him reply, I continued, "I know I'm not...average! But you don't need to act like you were kissing some devil!" Then something else controlled my actions. I grabbed Jordan's shirt collar and pulled his face up to mine, my violet eyes burning into his brown ones. "Tell me what's wrong with me!" I shouted. "I need to know, now!"

Jordan's P.O.V

I winced as Lyra yanked me up by my shirt collar, close enough to her face that I could feel her fast breaths. Her normally soft violet eyes had turned a furious purple-indigo color and she looked like a bomb about to burst. "Tell me what's wrong with me!" she screamed. "I need to know, now!"

I had no idea what to say. I knew she wasn't human, but I didn't know what she was. Lyra refused to let me look away, and I could feel her harsh glare burning into my eyes. It took all my energy to -sort of- lie, "I don't know."

The next thing I felt was pain. Complete and utter pain. Lyra's hand flashed across my eyes as she whacked my cheek hard, and I'm pretty sure I bit my tongue hard enough to make it bleed. "Lier!" Lyra yelled. She was twisting my shirt collar in a rage and was nearly choking me.

I coughed. "Lyra, please stop..." And she did. She pushed me back onto the bed, crutching her way to the door. But before she did, she turned back.

"I guess I'll never become Lyra Maron. In fact, I'm not sure I want to be anymore."

Lyra's P.O.V

I glared back at his hurt face after those words, which I kind of regretted because they were so cruel. But I wouldn't apologize. He was the one who pulled away. He was the one who lied about me. But he was the one I loved.

Sobbing, I grabbed my computer and stormed out of the apartment, and out of the hotel. I went outside and was greeted by pouring rain. Oh, whatever. Rain was perfect for how I was feeling, and it meant no one would think I was crying.

Suddenly, I felt my crutch fall and I collapsed on the ground. But I was pulled up by a scary female's face. She pulled a rag over my mouth and pulled me down through an alley. Just before I blacked out, I heard her say, "You're worthless, and you're dead, you stupid clone."

To Be Continued
