Jordan's P.O.V
It's been two months since Lyra was killed. I still couldn't get over it. I didn't even go to Minecon. I just packed up and took myself and Erica home.
Depression took over. I stopped making YouTube videos and stopped playing Minecraft. In fact, I barely made contact with any people for a while. My life became a black tunnel of darkness. I declined all calls from my friends on Skype, and after a while just let it ring until it ended.
Erica was the strong one. She went out and bought food, clothes, and did everything she could to comfort me. Not that she wasn't upset, but she refused to let me stay in my condition.
Then I decided to get up one day. I stretched my unused muscles as I walked to my office while Erica was out shopping, and I got on YouTube.
I made a video for the first time in, well, forever. And I found information that freed me from the darkness.
"Hey, dudes, I have a lot of explaining to do," I started the video with. Then I went through all the things that had happened over the past few months. Meeting Lyra, the car accident, finding Erica, the kiss Lyra and I had, Lyra getting kidnapped, her death, and finally depression.
"I'm so sorry," I finished. "I shouldn't have just left YouTube without a trace. I'll never do it again. I'm just going through terrible times. But it's not your fault and never will be. See ya later."
I stopped the recording, feeling like I forgot something. That there was something missing.
Of course there was.
Well, it was pretty obvious. I was missing that giggle in the background when I recorded. The hand on my shoulder when I was frustrated while playing. The violet eyes.
I missed Lyra. I missed her more than anything. I wanted her back.
To get Lyra off my mind, I decided to go to the park. It felt calming there, with the birds chirping and the laughter of children as they play tag or hopscotch. The spring breeze blowing softly in my face, and the smell of the fresh flowers. Man, I really need to start writing poetry.
I took my skateboard out as I walked into the park and boosted myself off and onto the pathway. It almost felt like it was before I even met Lyra. But I knew it would never be the same.
As I skateboarded around in the back of the park, I noticed a girl with black hair and red streaks. Her hair was curled at the bottom and she looked really pretty. In her hands was the book Wicked.
"Hi," I said nervously, sitting on the bench next to her. She looked up from her book and smiled politely, then her eyes widened in terror. I looked at them and saw what changed it all- the violet color.
"No," she said, getting up and backing away. "It can't be you, it can't."
I stood up as well and walked closer. She shook and kept backing up. I spoke. "It is. But I...I thought you died."
She grabbed the banister behind her that blocked people from stepping on the flowers. "I won't answer a lier," she said. She still didn't believe me, but I knew it was her.
I looked back on my knowledge from Wicked. "Elphie, it's me, Fiyero."
Her eyes narrowed. She turned away and started toward the exit of the park.
I chased her. "Wait!" I called. "Please stop! It's me! Please! Lyra!"
She stopped. Without turning around, she said, "People said you committed suicide."
I stopped dead in my tracks. "Never. And people said you were stabbed. I was the witness."
Lyra spun around to face me. She curled her fists into balls and glared at me, as if ready to lunge. "Lier."
"I'm not a lier!" I yelled harshly, voice colder than it normally was.
Lyra suddenly run at me. I braced myself for the pain, but it was much different. Her lips met mine and her perfume, lilac maybe, drafted into my nose. I kissed back. The moment was perfect. I had missed her for forever. Now I was getting her back, and life was going to be perfect.
Lyra pulled away after a bit. I was disappointed at first, but then she held my hands in hers and stared into my eyes. "I'm sorry," she whispered. "I'll tell you everything that has happened, though."
"I did get stabbed," Lyra explained. "But, this may sound gross, since Valerie and I have the same organs (since Lyra was Valerie's clone) the doctors were able to transfer her heart to me. You shot her in the head and not the chest, so they were able to do it in time."
I raised my eyebrows. So, Lyra's heart was dead, and Valerie's took its place? Lyra kept going. "The doctors also figured out that Valerie had went insane after getting cloned. It made her want to kill, and her mind told her what to do. Her heart was the only thing unaffected by the insanity." Well, that explains it. But I could tell that Lyra had something much more important to tell me.
We sat down on the bench again, hands still intertwined. Lyra squeezed my hand a bit before sighing. "Jordan, I wanted to commit suicide."
To Be Continued
Here it is: Of course Lyra is still alive. I'm not going to kill off my main character ten chapters into the book. But I like writing cliffhangers, which is why there's one in about every chapter. Lol. Oh yeah, and question: How do you teleport things into your inventory on Minecraft? Follow up question: How do you instantly craft and teleport stuff like planks from wood right into your inventory? I wanna know how!!!!! :P
