Never-Wilting Emotions

With its branches outstretched, this tree shields you

Whilst holding floral bouquets and crystal morning dew

As its leaves harmonizes with the whistling breeze

You clutch onto your hollow heart and fall to your knees

A single molecule of oxygen struggles to enter

Your brain cruelly slides through your gallery of her

Unfortunately your eyes aren't able to emit crystals of sorrow

Flesh to patch your wounded heart, you long to borrow

The tips of your fingers feel regret for letting her slip away

Unable to have saved her, death consumed the light of day

Without her warmth, your emotions deliberately fade

You battle the feeling of numb before it comes to your aid

Your right hand scoops up dirt that's now a part of her

Your left hand grips onto the bark, not realizing the splinters

In the afterlife, her spirit may be wandering free

But her motherly love dwells in the image of this ever-growing tree
