Y O U stood at opposite ends of the room in silence. Your head spun as it tried to make sense out of everything Bellamy had just told you. All this time you had been completely unaware of the existence of his sister; Octavia.

"Why didn't you tell me?" you asked.

"Tell you? I-" Bellamy began and then sighed in frustration. "How the hell was I supposed to just tell you something like that?"

"Did you not trust me? Is that it? Because I would've protected your secret with my life!" you said, passionately.

"And that's the problem! I knew you would." Bellamy said with a shake of his head. "I didn't want to put you in danger."

"I could've helped you! I could've been there." you said.

"And done what, exactly?" Bellamy asked.

"I could've taken her back to your room! And helped her hide the way you did." you explained, frustrated, wishing you could do something.

Bellamy shook his head. "Well there's no use for that now because they are going to float my mom!" he said and paused, letting the weight of his words hang in the air. "And my sister's going to juvenile lock up. She'll possibly be floated too."

"I'm just- I wish I could've done something." you said, blinking back the tears in your eyes. "Bellamy, I'm so sorry."

Bellamy looked down at the floor. This was all his fault and he hated himself for it. This had all been his doing. He put everyone he loved in danger, including you. And his actions would result in the death of his mother and possibly his sister. He'd never be able to live with that.

You walked over to him and took his hand in yours, gently squeezing it. He kissed your forehead and then turned to walk out the door. "Bellamy, wait. Where are you going?" you asked.

"I just need to be alone right now." he said as he opened the door. "I'm sorry, [y/n]." he said as he walked out and closed the door.

"No, wait." you said as you rushed to the door and opened it. "You don't need to apologize to me." you called out but he didn't turn or respond. He just continued to walk down the hall and you stood in the doorway as you watched him get  farther and farther away.

Never had you thought you'd have to watch Bellamy go through all of this. And seeing him in so much pain broke your heart. You wished you could do something but there was nothing you could do, and it frustrated you immensely. You hated watching the boy you loved on the brink of falling apart and not being able to do anything about it.
