P A R T 15

T W O   W E E K S    L A T E R

Y O U woke up like any other day; laying next to Bellamy after spending a night together. 

The two of you got dressed, getting ready for the day ahead. He kissed you goodbye before walking out the door in his janitor uniform. 

"No, one more." he said as he held the door open. You laughed and leaned in to place a kiss on his lips. He smiled as he walked out the door.

You went about your day as usual. You had lunch with Bellamy, went back to work, and then smiled at Enzo when you bumped into him in the hallway as you made your way back to your room. You wished you could've stopped and talked to your friend, but it was better not to be seen together. That way you wouldn't raise any suspicions regarding what he was helping you do. It seemed like any other ordinary day, but that all changed quickly when Bellamy came into your room later that night. His eyes were wide and he was breathing heavily, you immediately knew something was wrong. Something had happened.

He stood by the closed door to your room and just stared at you, not knowing where to begin. His heart was pounding in his chest.

You instantly dropped what you were doing. "What is it?" you asked in a whisper, your eyebrows furrowed in confusion. 

He walked over to you and stood in front of you. He took your hands in his and then took a deep breath. He looked around the room as if he were checking to make sure no one else was there.

"Bellamy, you're scaring me. What's going on?" you asked.

His eyes finally met yours. "No one knows what I'm about to tell you." You nodded, your way of telling him you understood that the information he was about to share with you was extremely sensitive, and that you were not to say anything to anyone. "The Ark is dying." he said in a whisper that was barely audible. 

"What? That can't be." you said in shock, grabbing on to Bellamy's hands tightly. "Are you sure?" you asked, confused. This wasn't supposed to be happening. Not yet. The Ark still had a few more years of life left in it to be able to sustain those onboard. 

Bellamy nodded." The council is sending the 100 delinquents down to Earth tomorrow to see if it's habitable. For the rest."

You shook your head, processing the information you had just been given. "How do you know all of this?" He was about to answer but you interrupted him once you realized who exactly would be sent to the ground. "Octavia." you whispered. "She'll be sent down." you said in a panic. "We have to do something, they'll die down there."

"We can't stop it." Bellamy said with a shake of his head. "But we can join them." he said slowly. He looked at you intently as he tried to read your reaction to what he had just proposed.

"What are you talking about?" you asked, your heart beating so fast you felt like you could barely hear your whispers. 

"Commander Shumway. He's how I know all of this. He approached me just now. He said he'll get us on that dropship. But only if I..." Bellamy began but trailed off and looked away from you.

"Only if you what?" you ask, scared of what Shumway has asked Bellamy to do to be able to get into that dropship. He knows Bellamy will do anything for Octavia and he'll use this to take advantage of him.

Bellamy finally turned to look at you once he'd gathered up the courage to tell you what has been asked of him, looking straight into your eyes. "Only if I kill Jaha." 

"Shit."
