T H E Y say time heals all wounds. And Bellamy isn't quite sure if that's necessarily true, but he does believe that it helps one to accept the things you can no longer change. Like the death of his mother. The torturous separation from his sister. It's been 6 months since the night of the dance that led to Octavia's discovery. He still carries the guilt. He promised to protect her and he failed.

And now he worries about you. You're putting yourself in danger so that he can communicate with his sister. If after everything that's happened he were to lose you too, he wouldn't be able to handle it.

You've always been there for him, to help him navigate life on the Ark. He's in love with you.

He looks over at you as you sleep in his arms. He thinks about everything you've both been through. The anniversary of your parents death is coming up soon and it's always a difficult time for you. He wants to be there for you, as he's always been.

He gently runs his fingers through your hair and a smile spreads across his face as he thinks about the first time you met, but that smile quickly fades when he feels you tense. You furrow your eyebrows and say something under your breath that he doesn't understand.

"[y/n]?" he asked softly, but you didn't respond. "[y/n]." he says again and this time you open your eyes.

You sit up, gasping for air. Tears running down your face. You get out of bed and walk to the other side of your small room.

Bellamy follows you, concern on his face. "What's wrong?" he asks.

Your back is against the wall, and you slide down it until you are sitting on the cold floor. You bury your face in your hands as you try to stop the tears, but you can't. Bellamy crouches down in front of you and places his hand on your knee. You look up at him, your vision blurry from the tears. "It's the same dream I always have." you explain. "I'm so close to saving them, but I don't get there in time. I'm always too late." He tucks a strand of hair behind your ear as he listens to you. "It's my fault. They're dead because of me. They stole that medicine to save me."

"Hey," Bellamy says softly, "it's not your fault. You would've died without it, and they knew that. They made their decision."

"So it was their life in exchange for mine." you say bitterly. Bellamy, not knowing what to say to that, continues to gently stroke your hair. You don't say anything for a while, you simply hold on to his hand. "I miss them." you finally say, breaking the silence.

"I know." he says, and sits next to you pulling you into his arms. He holds you tightly and kisses your forehead. Being in his arms calms you, and you relax under his touch. Your head leans on his chest and the sound of his strong and steady heartbeat gives you strength.

You eventually fall asleep again and Bellamy carries you to bed, laying down next to you. He knows you've been thinking about them a lot lately, causing you to once again have the nightmare that has haunted you for so long.

It's something you'll both have to live with now. Knowing you played a role in the death of your parents. And for Bellamy, possibly his sister.
