Survival (furry story)

Part V

The truck begins to sway as the cat tries to avoid the incoming fire. Aidan, Cable, and the others take cover behind the doors to find out where the shots are coming from. Cable taps their shoulders and point out the building across the street. He sees multiple little flashes in a few windows on the fourth floor, along with the direction of the shooting. "Everyone, take out those bogies across the street on the fourth floor!" Aidan commands. Cable, still not liking Aidan bossing him around, he does as commanded. He unstraps his rifle that is on his back, and begins loading. After he put six rounds inside, he gently calms his breathing, inhaling and exhaling. After he takes his fifth exhale, he takes his first shot.

It hits one of the bandits and hears a small, but short scream, which stops some of the men from shooting, but not for long. Melissa also takes out her rifle, and goes through the same breathing exercises Cable is doing, which she gets another kill. "We're pinned! We need to get to the truck." , Cable exclaims as he keeps firing. Aidan doesn't know what to do, for there are zombies and bandits blocking their pathway. All he can do now, is cover his companions as they lay waste to the bastards who are preventing them from leaving and the zombies trying to tear their flesh apart.

Aidan tries his best to lay down cover fire, so Cable and Melissa can do their part in taking them out. But the battle does not go that well for the team. A few bullets fly toward the truck and hits the horse who is outside of the vehicle shooting his weapons. He drops to the ground and shouts in pain, and the Zombies that are walking towards everyone, lays on him and begin eating him. He screams even louder. "AAAAAAGH FUCK, JUST KILL ME ALREADY." The Z's continue to eat and pull away his stomach, exposing his intestines. He coughs up blood as they eat his legs and pulls apart his arms slowly. Aidan pauses for a second before pulling the trigger, and shoots his comrade in the head.

The horse lays there motionless with a bullet hole in showing on his forehead as the Z's continue eating his corpse. they yank his ribs, digs into his neck, the worst ways to die, and Aidan ended his suffering before it got worse for him. "Dammit, We lost one!" Connor yells as he does his best to shoot at the Z's in the hospital with his pistols. "We need to get to the truck now!" Cable takes stops shooting and grabs Aidan's arm.

He looks at Melissa and Connor, "Aidan and I will go out through the emergency exit and flank them inside the building. In the meantime, try to get in the truck and lay down as much cover fire as you can." They both nod and continue to shoot at the Z's and bandits as Cable and Aidan run towards the emergency exit. They reach the exit and kill the zombies who are blocking it. "Are you sure this is a good idea Cable? We could e making a big mistake." Aidan adds. But Cable only smirks and chuckles, "Don't you remember our little game of Lazer tag with the other classmates? We were the best ones, and never got hit once because we had each other's backs. We won every game, and scored the highest in our entire class. We even beat the adults who were playing too. It was six against the two of us, and we kicked their ass. What's say you and I do that again?"

Aidan's heart skips a beat as he remembers and realizes that Cable is still as confident as ever. He nods his head, and the both of them dart out the door and end up on the side of the hospital.
