Survival (furry story)

Part VI

They both run as fast as the can across the street, avoiding and killing as many Z's as they can, while still conserving their ammo. Connor and Melissa try their best to get the bandits' attention away from the side of the streets as Aidan and Cable break through the glass on the first floor. There are only a few zombies with cameras on their heads while walking around, just like the ones in the hospital that is patrolling. "We need to be careful not to alarm them, otherwise they will know that someone is in the building." Cable whispers to Aidan.

"Yeah, no shit Sherlock." Aidan replies.

"Who?" Cable's ears and his head tilts to the side

"....Nevermind. I'll tell you about it later."

They both sneak behind one of the pillars, and wait for Z to move away from where they need to go. It stands still and doesn't move, until Aidan has an idea and takes one of his bullet casing, and throws it another direction. The Z hears the sound, and slowly walks toward the casing whilst growling. "Good thinking Aidan." Cable pats his head, But Aidan just smacks it away while blushing. They quietly move passed the other walkers as they head to the emergency stairs and walk up another three flights of stairs as they reach the door. Gunshots are being heard from the other side of the door, and it does not seem that they notice Cable and Aidan at the moment.

The two ready their weapons, and take a deep breath before slamming open the door and begin firing. Inside is a normal size office space filled with desks, and cubicles. Aidan and Cable kill three more people before they notice them and hide behind desks. The two hide behind the desks as well, while laying down cover fire. There are about ten more bandits in the room, judging by Cable's quick observation before hiding.

The shooting continues as Aidan peeks out for second, before returning to cover. He rolls away from the cover as he begins firing in their direction. The bandits try to duck their heads, to avoid the firing from both the window, and from Aidan and Cable's fire as well. Cable advances further up as he draws out his knife, before ducking under another table. Aidan slowly advances next to Cable, but under a different cubicle. "I'll do my best to give you cover fire while you take those bastards out!" Cable shouts to Aidan. He nods his head as he puts one of his pistols away and pulls out his knife from inside his boot. Cable nods, and signals him to advance as they both emerge from the desks.

The two advance as fast as they can to the bandits that were too preoccupied hiding under the cubicles as Aidan jumps over one of the desks. As he lands on the other side, one of the bandits finally notices. But before he could move his weapon in Aidan's direction, he stabs the bandit through the heart as he shoots the three next to him. Cable soon jumps over the other desk and shoots the five underneath and stabs them in the head so they would not come back as an undead. As the last bandit jumps up and begins to fire his assault rifle, Melissa sees her target, and shoots the bandit between the eyes, killing him instantly. Victory goes to the dynamic duo.

As Cable and Aidan stand close to each other, panting, Cable looks at Aidan. "Now will you tell me who Sherlock is now?"
